I was just watching a video the Four Seasons posted to their Instagram of the fire works display put on in the cove over the 4th. Was anyone there? Was it fabulous? It looked like the Four Seasons did a whole party that included food/dinner (you had to buy tickets, of course). Did Aulani do anything similar? I'm now thinking that this is where I want to be next year on the 4th!

You were able to watch the fireworks. They went off at 8:30PM. It only lasted about 10 minutes. We could see them from our balcony.

We rented a cabana that day for the pool and enjoyed that and the beach. It was really crowded so we were glad we had 'our' spot. People were out at 5:30AM already laying in seats to claim them that day.

There wasn't really too much special activities that day - the teens had a special party at 8PM but nothing really for younger children or adults other than watching the fireworks.

Thanks! Sounds underwhelming. Don't think I'll be planning a trip around it now, that's for sure :)

I was there too! We watched the fireworks from the beach in front row chairs that we got about 5:00pm that day. The fireworks were cool but it was a short show..... And I wouldn't categorize it as super patriotic. If you come from a town that does a big thing on 4th of July...like parades and shows and bands etc then you would be underwhelmed. It was my family's first time ever away from home on the 4th of July holiday. But it was also our first time at Aulani!!!!! We just enjoyed the pools and slides and beach all day so it was an awesome 4th for us. (definitely the most crowded day at the resort during our whole stay) Having the fireworks right there was a plus because my kids expect fireworks on July 4th. It was nice we didn't have to get in the car and go find a show. Oh and to add the fireworks are not done by Disney per se...they are put on by the resorts of Ko Olina.

Spoke to a CM as well. This was apparently the biggest yet. This was also the first year where the Ko Olina Resort Association ran it. Prior it was apparently smaller and done by Aulani per the CM I spoke with on July 5th. They were good. Hint if you want to get a good view from your room EWA tower ocean/pool view is not the best view (the other tower had the better view). I know because my 7 yo had no desire to go down and our bellman said we should have a good view (it wasn't horrible but not great either). The rest of my kids and husband ran down when it started not satisfied and found a terrific view right on the ramp down to the beach. I was surprised not as many activities that day they all seemed to stop by dinner and the teen event was just watching the fireworks together.
