You're going to be there at the first or second-most BUSY days of the year.
The MK may even become so crowded that it MIGHT be closed to further admissions at some point early-on in the day on the 4th. (The parking lot may be FILLED and closed, as well.)
One of the other parks may be a better choice on the 4th (Animal Kingdom in particular.)
Fireworks shows at MK and Epcot should have a "special finale" at this time of year.
But you have got your work cut out for you... with the heat, humidity, and overflowing CROWDS of people.
This is when we go every year- yes it is hot and crowded but we LOVE IT! The hours are LOOOONG at the parks- MK open until 1 AM some nights! You get your money's worth and even the crowds are doable if you get up early and take breaks mid day when it is sweltering. We always hit EPOCT on July 4th. It is so spread out that although it is crowded it is not tight. They add an extra special fireworks show on July 4(last year they ran it 2 nights to spread out the crowds)And if you are a pin collector or have kids that will do that- on the 4th they release special july 4th only pins for each park(hard to come by and they do sell out!) Actually MK and EPCOT both hit capacity last year. If you are an onsite guest you can still get in- We are planning on going again this year so look for us
We arrived on July 4th this year (great timing on our Part ). We got there about 3:00 and wanted to walk around one of the parks. We were told MK was full and Studios was close to capacity. We really didn't want to go to AK so we headed to Epcot. The park was crowded but big enough to handle the crowds more so than the other parks. We actualy on had a 20 min. wait for Mission. The fireworks are great here and there are a lot more areas to view.
On a side note we usually go during spring break and the crowds July 4th week quite a bit larger.
I kind of figured the parks would be extremely busy. We have been there before on New Years day when they closed for new entries and the MK was awfully crowded.
Are the extra finale's of the fireworks worth battling the crowds? We go every year for 9 or 10 nights so have already seen all the nighttime parades/shows lots of times.
