What is the best thing to do on 4th July. We were going to go to epcot about noon & stay for fireworks, but now i'm not sure if this would be a waste of a day (as this is our first time at disney & we only have 1 day at epcot) because its so busy.
What is open on 4th? shops, seaworld, waterparks etc.
All thoughts would be greatfully received.

July 4th is like any other peak season day in WDW--everything will be open and the park hours will be extended.
I think your choice of EPCOT is a good one. MK will be chaos.
EPCOT is so spread out that it never seems as crowded as the other parks on even the busiest day. We enjoyed purchasing some of the special 4th items they had in some of the countries.
I would recommend you getting a PS/AR at a sit down for either a late lunch or early evening meal to get rested and recharge your batteries. Biergarten would be my first choice and Le Cellier if possible, although it may be booked already this late.
You can wander around in any of the countries to cool off. China has a sit down area for the pre-show show and America has a sit down show. China and Canada you have to stand for the movie (which we wish would change); and in Mexico, you can cool off by either sitting around the market or riding the boat ride over and over again (usually with minimal wait). Norway has a fun boat ride, but the lines are pretty long. :earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsboy: :earsgirl:

But MK has the most spectacular Fireworks for the 4th! 360° around the whole kingdom! That's where I'll be! :cool1:
