We are coming to disneyland between 25th June and 6th July, and we were wondering how busy the park gets on the 4th july and if there is any special fireworks for the occassion. How hectic to the parks get during this week. We are wondering if we have made a bit of a mistake with these dates!!

thanks
Ang

I personally dont have any experience with the 4th of July weekend that I can remember. We went at least once a year when I was a kid and I am sure that one of those weekends had to be on the 4th of July.

Anyhow, Just as a quick reminder, Other than Memorial Day in May, the 4th of July is the largest holiday for most people. So figure on the park being pretty packed!

Like I said, I dont know for sure, but I would count on it given the holiday.

Hope this helps...

I've been on 3 4th of Julys. The first one, back in the I think 1990 (DL's 35th I think), was packed. The last 2 have been the last two 4th and in both cases it only got really crowded in the late afternoon-early evening. People came in just to watch the fireworks. Last 4th I didn't arrive until about 2:30 and there were no DL is full signs to be seen at that time (and I expected them). So, if you do come on the 4th and plan to watch the fireworks in front of the catsle, get your spots early--people were sitting down around 2-3 in the afternoon.

Any holiday weekend is going to be busy and since that's in the summer it will have more crowds.

http://www.scottware.com.au/theme/feature/crowds.htm (click on time of the year) that is a crowd chart showing the level of crowd for the parks during the year. 4th of July is the second busiest time to visit the parks behind chritmas/new year's holidays.

Thanks icekatejen I’ve been looking for some input on the 4th of July. We’ll be there the 3rd through the 7th this year.

Maves Wife/Ang……..we booked this vacation at Disneyland knowing full well that the parks will be VERY crowded. We’re going to pack a big dose of patients, tolerance and laughter.

Our plan of attack is to visit DL in the mornings and DCA in the afternoons. Evenings are reserved for sitting on the balcony with an adult beverage in hand and people watch…. or sitting by the pool with an adult beverage in hand and people watch.

thanks for all you help guys. We are buying a 5 day hopper so I think we will use 4 days to do all the rides/shows and leve he 5th day to enjoy the atmosphere and people watch. Thanks again for your help
