What would you consider your 4th of July signature drink?

We're having a party w/ a set up for wine, beer, & wanted to offer 1 mixed drink - any suggestions?!!TIA!

Did you want a mixed one to have in a pitcher to serve?

Lately, if I want something a little jazzed up than serving wine or comfort and ginger ale (our staples), we make Sangria or Mojitos.

Something that I saw as a drink special at one of our favorite restaurants I am itching to try, but it's a layered drink, so it wouldn't do well unless you plan on standing behind the bar! It's the Bomb Pop-and it sounds so yummy.

bomb pop:
put 2 oz grenadine in a glass, add ice
2 oz UV Blue Raspberry Vodka
4 oz lemonade

If you put the grenadine in before the ice, the layers will stay separate and more resemble the ice pop.

Italian ice and vodka - I serve it every year at our bash. Its so simple and people just LOVE IT!

A recipe perhaps??!!:thumbsup2

Thanks! The layered cocktail sounds amazing, but I can admit I dont have the patience for that!

Well, there's always room for Jello shots

(this was a joke, btw)

I am usually either drinking beer or wine on the 4th, so I am no help.

I thought it was self explanatory :lmao: We have an Italian ice stand shop (Italian lemonade) on our corner.

I get the lemon flavored Italian Ice (if you live somewhere that you can't get this, I SUPPOSE you can use lemon sherbert), fill up my glass with it about 3/4 of the way, pour vodka in the rest, stick a straw in it and voila....the best summer cocktail you'll ever have.

My favorite is a Carribean Smuggler (used to serve at the Banana Cabana at CBR)

Coconut Rum
Pineapple Juice
Cranberry Juice

and if your feeling daring - a floater of Captain Morgan spiced rum

Its fruity, tropical, and refreshing - and easy to make if you're making a pitcher!!

That sounds great!! Im going to try this - Thanks:thumbsup2

Curacao, blue 1/2 oz.
Triple Sec 1/2 oz.
Vodka 1 1/2 oz.
Grenadine 1 dash
Sour Mix 1/2 oz.

Mix all ingredients except grenadine in shaker and chill. Serve in martini glass. Add grenadine and it will sink to bottom, so the drink is layered red, white and blue!

There are some awesome ideas here! I was going to say a blue Hawaiian for the blue part, but way to go on the tri-colored drink!

Margaritas!!
Don't know why, but they are a tradition. We have had them on the 4th for many years.
It is tough when we have to work the next day, argh:rolleyes: But, I could have just one.;)
