hi next year we will be in orlando when its the 4th of july and i was wondering where the best place is for the celebrations.Did you think everwhere was really busy and your better giving it a miss, or what about going to a water park that day?

thanks

universal isn't that bad on the 4th of july...
but i love the fireworks at the magic kingdom best...they had a new independence day fireworks show this year that was outstanding..
but the parks at universal are less crowded than at WDW...

:wave2: We were staying onsite last year for the 4th and ended up just having a resort day as a few people we spoke to said that the parks would be heaving the only problem was we didn't make an ADR for that day and ended up with carryout pizza from room service:sad2: . We're planning on avoiding the parks and staying at the resort pool next year but this time we'll book dinner, maybe at O'Hana's then watch the MK fireworks from the beach.

We went to MK on the 3rd (unwittingly not realising they celebrate the 4th of july on the 3rd also) the fireworks was fantastic, they was going off behind the castle and behind us so you could view either way.The castle donned stars/stripes so on.
It was busy busy however, but we managed to get a great spot to view, and left not long after.
On the 4th we drove down to Daytona,it wasnt busy at all (road wise).

Just be warned we found this time driving back to our hotel, cars was swerving onto the sides of the roads to catch glimpse of the fireworks at the parks,it was dangerous.:scared1:

Been there the last 3 years at this time and it is really busy. We loved the firework display at hollywood studios. I wouldn't choose to go at this time again but for people that are you need to get to the parks early. On the 4th we tended to not go to the parks during the day and just go for the fireworks. One year we went to discovery cove for the 4th and it was brill, not busy as they only let a certain amount of people in.

I see 2SCOTTISHPRINCESSESS is flying out on the same day as me:banana:

We're flying from Glasgow with Virgin but our friends that we're going with couldn't get the lower flydrive price out of Glasgow for the five of them so they will be on your flight out of Manchester:thumbsup2

Where are you going to be staying?

hi we will be staying at the fairfield inn and suites on international drive.we just came back from disney 4 weeks ago and we stayed at POR .

hi there, we loved it.The room was lovely and clean, food court was really good, lots of choices. The main pool was really good, the lifeguards played games with the kids and there was lots of sunbeds. The boat to down town was a real bonus for us because we always found parking at down town a nightmare. overall a really good resort and we hope to go back in 2010.where is your friends staying?

They're staying with us on site for the first week and for the second week they're moving on to a villa. We're hoping to move to BC for the second wee.

Hi I'm a newbie on here, but I'm going to WDW for 4th July next year!! It will be my first trip to WDW. We fly on 4th July and land at about 13.30 in Florida.

Have you got any tips for 'handling' the 4th July Celebrations or making plans for 4th July?

thanks,

Sophie x
