4th grade has sure changed since I was a kid!

My dd is in 4th gr this year. We had our back to school night last night.

Among other things, she's learning:
Algebra
Geometry
Word
and Powerpoint Presentations

I shudder to think of what she'll learn in high school.

It is crazy.

The scariest part about it right now is that I'm learning those topics right now as a sophmore in High School.

Last year my 4th grader had to learn those things (maybe not so much of the geometry) but also learn to read music and had to produce either a music video or 5 minute video movie.

This year, her 5th grade teacher said the math will be what parents learned in 9th-10th grade. DD is not a terrific student. No wonder she's stressed out. Holy heart failure, Batman!

One of our neighbors is a soph and she's taking AP European History (in addition to a whole host of other scary subjects).
