Which rides seem to be available for the 4th and 5th FP+ at MK? On a very busy day will there still be FP+ available in the late afternoon? I'm wondering how beneficial the extra FP+ will be.

It won't be for the popular rides :) It will probably be for rides that you really don't even need a FP for unfortunately, if it is during a busy time

During March and late July, we were able to get Buzz, Jungle Cruise, Space Mountain, BMTRR, and Haunted Mansion around lunch or early afternoon. All of these had at least 30 minutes waits at the time.

We were at MK on Monday and Wedesday.

On Monday, we got Big Thunder 4th and Haunted Mansion 5th.

On Wednesday, we got Peter Pan 4th and Buzz 5th.

Probabky quite beneficial for secondary attractions.

Keep in mind that tips have been shared that suggest that once you book a subsequent pass at the kiosk, you can edit it on your smart phone device. This may allow you to adjust the time to something more suitable. I forget why other than maybe the kiosk isn't quite kicking out the best times available.

We were at the MK a couple of nights without FP+ and had some success. I'll use our last night as an example since it is fresher in my memory.

We started the day at DHS for SWW. Our initial FPs were scheduled there. I stopped by the MK around 1:00 PM to do a couple of things I wanted to do and scheduled Space at 3:40. After finishing Space around 4:10 we got an almost immediate FP for HM for 4 people. We rode IASW after HM and got a Tomorrowland Speedway FP. We then got a Buzz FP that opened in 15 minutes. Buzz was down so we headed to BTMRR which is an alternate. It was down so we used it for Splash. We found another BTMRR FP available that gave us time have a quick CS dinner before the ride. It was approaching 9:00 PM after Thunder. There were some FPs still available (the park was open until midnight). We decided to head back to the resort. My wife and I were up at about 5:30 AM for SWW and we were headed to Universal the next day.

A couple of observations; 1) lines for the kiosks look long but usually moved quickly. There were people that had not used all of their FPs yet but the CMs identified this quickly. 2) If you see a FP you like but want to explore more options, check that one until you find a better one. I saw FP times appear and disappear as I was searching.

Josh at easyWDW recommends just picking anything and then changing it on your phone because he says that the touchscreens at the kiosks are finicky.

Also, the FP+ availability changes as people change their plans. For instance, I had BMTRR and Space Mountain. Well, DS decided to pull a Tom Sawyer on Tom Sawyer Island and hid from us for a long while. We ran all over the island trying to find him. Since he had misbehaved, we decided to cancel the FP+ for those rides. We had ridden them previously anyway. So, they were then available for someone else.

If you have multiple people in your party does everyone's magic band need to be swiped at the kiosk to get a 4th or subsequent fastpass or can just one person go?

Just one person can go. We did this Friday evening, just before 7pm. We got Jungle Cruise FP starting 5 minutes later, when standby was 40 minutes. We got Buzz immediately after riding JC. Still quite a bit of availability left, although BTMRR was closed, so that was out.

OR...if you happen to be staying club level at the right resort, you can text the concierge to get you a 4th FP and they may just give you 3...that can be used for anything, anytime, anywhere. Yes, this may or may not have recently happened. Again and again.... :flower:

We may never look back....

We were at MK yesterday and didn't make FP+ until that morning because DH ( a CM) had never linked his main gate pass for us all to go. That being said, we were able to get FP+ for Splash Mountain, Space Mountain and Jungle Cruise. We were able to get 4th FP+ for BTMRR later in the day. So, even with little advance planning on a summer weekend, we still were able to do all the mountains plus many other rides. The only ride we skipped because of the wait was the Mine Train.

Take the first thing you're happy with at the kiosk, and then immediately look for something better on the app. This worked well for us last October. We easily got 8 in a day.

This works great if you have a smart phone. Not everyone does. I have a smart phone that does not do the app well.

We were there all last week and were able to get Space mt., Buzz. BTMRR, SplSh, Jungle Cruise for 4th and 5th fps- pretty much anything except 7DMT and Anna/Elsa. At Epcot,
We were even able to get Soarin. On our DHS day, we decided the night before to relax at the resort all day and not go to the park until 5, I was
Able to move our TSMM and Tot to that night- TSMM wasnt available the first few times I checked, but i checked
Back the morning of and got one for 9-10 pm!

It does really help if you have a smartphone and can use the app to move things around

I think another factor is your party size. If you are a smaller party (1-2 people), you will have better luck than a larger party (we always travel with 6, so it is a little more difficult).

I read that comment before we left. I found the tablets to be simple to use.
