Just wondering about 4th FP availability lately at HS and EP.

Seems as though HS and EP are pretty useless for 4th FP availability for headliners, but has anyone had luck with any of the rides listed in the title lately?

Thanks.

Dan

It's not 'lately' so not sure if this helps but last year I was able to get a 4th FP for TT at 3:00 in the afternoon for our group of 2 people.

None of those were available when I was there in July. However, I did cancel a TSMM FP and when I told the CMs they announced it to the crowd waiting at the kiosk that two were becoming available. So someone got two FPs, but we didn't get anything comparable to replace them. We replaced it with Fantasmic because we were leaving the park and coming back for the evening. Just too hot to stay for the afternoon and wait around on a ride/attraction.

We don't spend a lot of time in Epcot, but we do like DHS later at night when the crowds diminish. Even if you can't get a 4th FP+, you can always wait it out and the lines will eventually get short enough to not need a FP.

For example, we've often rode TSMM 4 times in the hour between 9 & 10 pm. The kids rode ToT 13 times in two hours between 8 & 10 pm last summer. RnR keeps a line later than the others, but you can still get in about 3 rides in a hour if you're patient.

It's almost impossible to get any of these as a 4th FP. MAYBE tot but that's a big maybe. The others are usually long gone

We have just returned from a trip and none of these were available when we tried for our 4th FP.

On our trip 7/18-7/22 we were able to get a same day FP for Test Track but it was for late in the day and we had to split the FPs up and get overlapping times. We went to Epcot on an early morning and at 9:00 the FP were gone for Soarin. At HS RNR and Tower of Terror were gone at the beginning of the day.

I've never had a problem getting ToT as a 4th or even 5th FP
That is the one that we could not get that really surprised us. We even expressed disappointment to the CM working the FP kiosk and he told us he had seen only one person get them.

We got TOT for 4 around 7pm on our June trip, but I certainly wouldn't count on it being available.

That's assuming that you are going over peak times and the parks are open that late. We travel in fall and DHS usually closes at 7:30.

I think ToT availability might depend on whether they are operating both elevators.

That seems so strange to me. I was able to get several pretty late in the day on July 4th which - while not as busy as MK was that day - was pretty busy. (on a side note - I was able to get 7DMT as a 4th FP on July 3rd. Maybe I'm just lucky with the system?)

This does seem strange. HS was very busy but I had expected to be able to get TOT. Maybe we were just unlucky but the FP CM made us think that we shouldn't have expected to get one.

The TOT and 7DMT makes me think you are lucky.

The OP asked about recent experiences, which leads me to believe that his family may be visiting soon.

This time of year, being patient and waiting a little while will get you back on the headliners without the trouble of obtaining an extra FP+.

That's why I sometimes question all of the schemes and hassles involved in getiing extra passes like throwaway rooms, extra magic bands, etc.

We just wait until after dark then ride the top attractions as many times as we want to.

I'm glad that works for you. Looks like the OP is going in September though and won't be able to be in the parks that late.

Thank you everyone! Looks like I'll need to go in with low expectations! Bummer.

Yes, we're going late September / early October, which is a low crowd level, but as everyone knows there is no SLOW time anymore. The parks close much earlier (MK-9, EP-9, HS-7:30, AK-5), so waiting out the crowds unfortunately isn't an option.

Our last trip was the same timeframe in 2013, and there were no 4th+ FP's, but legacy FP's were still going I believe, so that tempered the sting of FP+ a little.

On another note, we have friends staying offsite the week before labor day, who have been staying up to midnight each night as their 30 day window opens, and they still can't get a 7DMT FP. Something just doesn't seem right about that.... offsite or not.

How many in your friends group? He/she should try splitting it up and trying for overlapping FP times.

Just wondering, how does the extra magic bands thing work?

right, it's rare to get headliners as a 4th, couldn't even do that w/ Splash 3 weeks ago so went after fireworks. I think early on in the availability everyone gets fp+, then some cancel later(I got a 7dmt fp a week before the trip 3 weeks ago)
