For our trip next year it will be my sons birthday. What would people recommend for his birthday to do?

Specifically where would be good to eat. Done chef mickeys and don't think we want that as just a bit manic and not sure if they d make a fuss or not?

Thinking somewhere where they ll sing etc.

Can you get cakes delivered to the restaurant?

How do you let people let servers etc know there's a birthday?

Other than that I guess we ll go to his favourite park whatever that may be. Will be staying on site

Has anyone actually been there for a child's birthday and what was it like.

It will also be my wife's birthday but will be offsite for that. Any recommendations?

For a four year old I would choose Crystal Palace for really cute character interaction. All of the character meals are somewhat frenetic I think to varying degrees. Get him a birthday button and add the birthday info to your reservation. I don't know about the cake part of your question but my DH has celebrated three birthdays in Florida and for his birthday meal has always been bought a surprise birthday cupcake. You can't guarantee that though.

All of the character meals do some sort of celebration - they will most likely bring a cupcake out with a candle. Haven't seen them sing to a single child though.

Other restaurants do different things - Liberty Tree bring a cupcake and sing a special song.

Signatures can do personalised menus and may bring a treat out. Cali Grill decorates with confetti.

Our DD had her 4th birthday at CRT which was OK but nothing is going to as special as you want as there are lots of people everyday with birthdays in WDW and they just can't go the extra mile for everyone :goodvibes

You can order a personalised cake from the cake hotline or you can get a small cake if you request it when you check in. Have a look at the cake chatter thread: cake chatter thread - it is the cake bible :worship:

Thanks will look re cakes. When we were in beaches an cream they set off a siren dimmed the lights then sang a song so that might be an option.
