4pm Entry for MVMCP?

I have read in multiple places that with the hard ticket for the Christmas party you can begin to gain entry to MK at 4pm. We are trying to decide whether to splurge for these tickets and if we do we are considering making dining reservations at 4p inside the park (as that is what's available at this point). Would this work? I'm just concerned that if they don't in fact let us in at 4p we would miss the reservation. Thoughts?

Yes. Guests with party tickets will be admitted at 4:00PM.

However, I would not make costly and time-consuming dining reservations (anywhere at WDW) any time later than 2:30PM on a day that I was going to use expensive and short-time party tickets.

I agree with @Robo.

My advice is to make a dining reservation around 2:30 at a monorail resort restaurant (or Wilderness Lodge) and head over so you're not wasting valuable park/party time.

I know, and this is something I've also thought about, but it's sort of the idea of having a "Christmas Dinner" as a family before we are surrounded by Christmas, Disney style. Not sure how I'd feel about losing that fast pass time because I know that will close once the party starts. At this point I'm just trying to figure out all the options and go from there. Still trying to decide if it's worth it to splurge on the party tickets at all, though I REALLY want to!

If you do dinner, then it is good that you are planning early. That way, once the real Party begins, you have done dinner and do not have to stop for more than a snack. You are maximizing your time by eating before the party begins.

In 2016 we were let in as soon as the afternoon parade went by which was 3:50. I said to the Cm is this normsl and she said they dont want a herd of guests entering while the parade is going ny due to safety. They did check everyones ticket and fingerprint by 340

I totally understand the Christmas dinner aspect of your thought process. We booked an ADR at 3:15 at LTT with this exact plan in mind. Turkey and the works before a Christmas party just seemed to make sense.
