We have finally decided to do a Disney Cruise!!!
But now we are trying to decide if we really want to do a seven day. We could do a seven day in a Cat 5 or 6 or possibly get a Cat 3 (if available) on a 4 day cruise. I know we would enjoy a 4 day but the seven day seem a little long. Would we enjoy the four day more being in a much bigger room or the seven day in the regular room. Any Suggestions???

hands down for me.....7 day in a cat 6.

others may disagree, but for me, the more time I can be on that ship, the better!

My choice would be easy...7 night. No question in my mind. We were rarely in our rooms, and even if the room was really nice, we still wouldn't be in there that much. There is so much to do out around the ship, in the ports. The choice for me would be easy. Heck, I'd take an even lower category and go for two 7 night trips in a row!

7 day for sure. The room is a place to sleep for the most part. It would be nicer to hang out in a cat 3, but the boat-life outside the room and the excursions are where it's at, and all categories of rooms are on equal footing there.

7 Days - Hands down in the Cat 6 for me!!!! I agree with the rest - you go for the atmosphere and action outside of the room vs. the room.

Have a great time!

I would definitely take the 7-day! More days on the ship are much more important to me than what category we are staying in.

I would vote hands down for the 7!!!! I'd rather be on the boat longer. The cateogry 6 is wonderful since you have a verandah.

4 days is really short... I always hate getting off the ship.. I think every time..

"Shelley, you dumb girl...why didn't you book a 7 day cruise. Enough of this 4 day teaser stuff!"

So finally I took the big plunge and will have my first 7 day DCL cruise in 25 days!! Done a 7 day on another line and didn't think it was too long ay all. Really looking forward to a 7 day on Disney!

My vote is for the 7-day too! I've heard soooo many people say that the 3 & 4 day cruises are too short... not to mention that your ports of call are much more exciting on the Eastern or Western Carribbean Itinerary!

princess, it depends if you like a) cruising and b) Disney. If both are true do the 7 day. If you are not sure if you like cruising and love Disney, go for the 4 day to try it out-you could always rebook onboard for 7 day in 2005.

If you're not sure about cruising and are not crazy about Disney, try a short cruise on another line.

But if I had to choose between 4 and 7-regardless of cat- 7 day all the way!!

7 day...don't spend that much time in the room to begin with and usually am in a cat 10 anyways!

This was our first cruise for our family. As soon as we boarded I knew I was going to book a 7 day.

My 10 year old was in tears as we left, my 13 year old complained that just as he was getting to know his new friends he had to go home.

We were in a Cat 3. I would give it up for a 7 day in a minute!!!!!
We rebooked immediately on our 4 day for 5/04 - 7 day western and watching my kids mature in this last year - I just know that a 7 day will be perfect!

Four days - it was like this....

*Board..... unpack - get comfortable, eat, explore and sleep.

*Get off ship, excursion.. dinner, Kids just start to meet new friends

*Day at sea... just right when you get to know your friends.....
Castaway Cay... whine all day that we have to go home tomorrow
and leave dinner or sometime during this day to get your luggage ppacked and out by 11:00 pm. Packing to go home so quick is so depressing.

Next morning, wait in line to check in with your airline outside the Disney port (45 min. or so-depending upon... etc.) with sad faces .....It was too short.

Take a 7 day!

Thanks for all the quick replies!!!
I think I'm going to have to agree with all of you all.
Escpecially sinces the ports of call are so much better on the 7-day. Finally our mind is made, now its time to start booking:Pinkbounc

Yes. I agree with all of you! I think that doing the 4-day is best if done AFTER a 7-day. That way, you don't have all of that time wasted getting to know the ship and how things work and what is going on. This way you can go directly into everything head first!

SO glad we could help princesslondon!

DUH -- 7 days.

I'd rather do 7 days in the CM's quarters than a 4 day in the Disney Suite!!!!!!!!!!!

It's not about the room for me...
