My 5 yo DS has just declared he is too small for roller coasters and doesn't want to go to 7DMT, splash or BTMR. This is despite loving 7DMT last year and being very upset that he couldn't ride the other 2 because he was too short
Should I change fast passes?, I will hate losing the chance of using them on something else but it will be a disaster if he decides he really wants to ride 7DMT and we don't have a fast pass
What do you do with kids that change their mind all the time?

I have patience with them. We adults do the same thing. My son went from scared of Rockin' Roller Coaster, to loving it, to scared again, all in the same trip. He loved Space Mountain one trip, and chicken-walked out of its line the next trip. All part of growing up.

I recommend keeping your current FastPasses. He might change his mind while at the park. If he doesn't, switch them while in park. The nice thing is that if he doesn't change his mind, the rides you'll switch to won't have queues nearly as long as those of the coasters.

Relax and think of a Disney trip as being a bit like a wedding. In the end it's not about creating a mythical perfect day, but instead it's about the love & special experience you share.

Keep them.. most of the non-coasters are easy to get the same day if you need to modify your existing and he really doesn't want to ride it. When he is standing next to it and watching everyone excited he may change his mind.

Im just a bit more hard core about the situation. Now I would never make a child that was truly scared ride something they are afraid of. DS is scared of TOT just from looking at it and I would not make him do it nor would I make him ride a ride the second time a ride that he did not like or that scared him. HOWEVER....assuming he did enjoy SDMT the first time, and assuming that he helped pick the other two fast passes....I would take the attitude that these are the rides we chose to do as a family and we are all going to do them together. Had I not taken this stance the trip DS was five.....he would have ridden VERY little. I did not include things like EE or dino or space mountain....but BTMR, Slash etc as well as dark rides like POC. I knew my kid well and he was fine and liked or loved everything except Haunted Mansion. OOOPS. My bad.....but he was fine and at least a bit proud of himself. Now if you get there and he truly seems to be really scared, I would not force it but rather one adult use their FP the minute the window opens and then come back and the other adult goes. Chances are quite good that by that time he will decide he wants to ride too. If not and there is still time, one adult or child old enough to ride alone can go again.

I wouldn't go too crazy, just keep the fast passes that you have already. I think it's too early for him to know whether he wants to do it or not and once he is there he will change his mind. Also if you go early morning you can pretty much get through a bunch of rides without FP. This is small stuff and nothing to stress over just have a good time.

Like someone else said - keep them in case he changes his mind. Anything else he'd probably want would most likely be available same day (or day before if he still keeps insisting).

Last trip my son ride 7D one day but decided he was done with coasters for the rest of the trip. I always like the feeling of giving up a popular FP day of. I feel like I'm totally making someone's day.
