495/95N on way to Lebanon, ME (inside border)- where to stop?

Check in isnt until 4pm on the 19th; drive time is 3hrs. Was going to work 1/2day and leave at 1pm. However since boss wont give me my other vaca/personal days Im thinking of not heading in to work at all on the 19th and taking a full vac day.
Where can I stop for a few hrs on the way up there? (There is nothing around where we are camping)

I lived in North Lebanon for 5 years, and you're right, there is nothing there! (I'm so glad I'm outta there!)

Stop in Rochester, NH along the way, it's right off the Spaulding Turnpike, it's an alternative to 95 and will take you right in, as opposed to driving 95 North and getting off in either York or Wells. It'll be longer if you go that way.

Where exactly are you going, Kings and Queens?

Come to think of it, there's really not much to do in Rochester, NH either! They have a very small mall (Lilac Mall) and some fast food eateries.

Maybe going 95 North would be better, stopping in Kittery to do some outlet shopping, stop in the Kittery Trading Post, things along that line.

But again, that is going the long way, the Spaulding Turnpike leads you right into Lebanon via 202.

Never stayed at Kings & Queens but we go past it on the way to our place in Milton. Milton is about 15 minutes north on Rt. 125.
There are 3 interconnected lakes there along with a public beach. The water and beach are a nice place to spend some time.

I'm not sure where Lebanon is, but how about York's Wild Kingdom off of 95?

Yes Its Kings and Queens Campground. We stay in 1 of their cabins. Doublechecked - checkin is at 3pm, checkout is noon.
They have a hugh waterslide built into a hill, wagon rides, mini-golf, teen dances at night, pools, hot tubs, beach, craft bldg, brooks where DS catches frogs, etc
Its a great place! We've been going yearly for several yrs now. Only thing is there is no place near it!
One yr we did Yorks Wild Animal Kingdom before checking in but it was a distance through back roads to get to K&Q from there.

hey Barb - have a great time at K & Q .. Megan and Kyle will be camping their with their dad from Aug 19 to 22 .. they can't wait to go on the water slide again ! and catch frogs in the pond ! Michelle

i think they are on the Kings side .. I will be sure to let Meg & kyle know you are going to be there so they can say hi (I will tell Mark too so he doesn't think they are just talking to strangers LOL ) I sure hope the Weather gets better !!! I will be out most of the month of Aug on STD so nice weather would be nice to be getting better in ..

We never stayed there because we lived there in that area. When we went on vacation, we left the state of Maine!
