44 Hacks for a Disney Cruise Article

last October on the fantasy we hit a few very rainy days. they were passing them out as you disembarked. we came back to the ship and went out again in the afternoon and they were just at the door for the taking.
they look like the ones from the park, they have a mickey on the back, but we have had both and the ones on the ship are lighter than the park ones. they are still decent and free.

I recall ponchos being offered on the Alaska cruise a couple of years ago as well. Perhaps they are not offered where the rain is not combined with warm weather but only cooler climes. I thought it was very nice to have them available. The cold, wet washcloths offered when coming back on the ship after a hot day are awfully nice too. :sunny:

its got some good information however as it is dated todays date, some of the formation is not correct. like TesgH2O pointed out, the byob is not correct. the gratuities is not correct either.
still, a pretty good article.

The author of the article was on the Jan 9th Western Caribbean cruise, so a warm climate. It wasn't HOT but still warm :). We didn't get off the boat but I shared an elevator with someone who had already been off and back on early in the day and they were saying ponchos were handed out.

Anyone know anything about the water comment? The author says the tap water isn't for drinking? There are no signs up by Disney saying this so I really hope that isn't true since we did indeed drink the tap water.

The tap water onboard? All water onboard the ships is processed the same as most bottled water (reverse osmosis and filtered). That's ALL water (drink station; dining rooms; tap in your room; preparing food; making ice).

That's what I thought, which is why we didn't hesitate to drink it. The article says only certain stations were safe to drink water from.

I hate articles like that where you have to keep clicking, I know it makes them money but it annoys me.

Edit: It was pointed out that there is a button that you can click to see them all on one page. None of them are all that useful, imo, but cant hurt to skim over.

How about the "port side fish - starboard side seahorse" thing? I think that's only on the Dream class ships, right? And Concierge has a starfish.

Plus, you can't bring meal-type foods into the theaters, only snacks (popcorn, candy).

I believe other cruise lines can have yellow lifeboats, also. Maybe not the specific "Mickey shoe" yellow, but yellow, nonetheless.

It also says "and several outdoor deck water fountains". AFAIK, the drinking fountains onboard don't work. At least on the Wonder they didn't. Don't know if the Dream class ships have actual drinking fountains. But I've always found drinking fountains to be gross.

There is a spot under the title of the article, before the first picture, that says "view on one page". It's to the left of Photo 1 of 45. Click that, saves a whole lot of aggrevation!!

I didn't notice any drinking fountains, but then again I wasn't looking for them either! We were on the same cruise she wrote this list based on. I like the article, just wish the inaccurate stuff wasn't there.

I noticed the water and BYOB inaccuracies also, but I still enjoyed the article and was happy to see how much the author loved their cruise. Made me want to do the Fantasy again! But I was wondering if the stateroom door pictured in number 11 belonged to anyone here on the DIS?
