Heading down for the Princess Half tomorrow from NC. We usually take I-4 to 417, however last spring was our first experience with 528 when we left the Disney Magic at Port Canaveral and headed to WDW. It was such a nice drive that I'm wondering if anyone has stayed on I-95 all the way to 528 and cut straight across? It appears to only add about 10 miles if I'm looking at it correctly. We are potentially hitting the Orlando area in the late afternoon, so rush hour traffic is a concern.

Late in the afternoon, use I4 to 417. Personally, I wouldn't drive to down to Melbourne and then cross on 528. You would be OK until you got to the airport and then you would want to jump off on to 417.

I presume OP has made the drive by now ... but the question for future readers is which is better I-4 and the north portion of 417 ('tween Sanford and the airport) or 95 from Daytona Beach to 528, then 528 to the airport . . . I think it is a PUSH to use Blackjack terms. Either way, at the airport I'd go 417 (south portion) to get over to Disney . . .
