I'm looking for some creative budget 40th birthday gift ideas. Any suggestions?

Maybe a little more detail would help....What's your price range? Is it for a man or woman? Are you looking to make a gift, or purchase an item of sorts? What are the person's interests?

I haven't had to buy a gift for a 40th birthday yet, but as you can see my husband is getting pretty close! ;)

Hopefully once you've given a little more info, others will start posting. :thumbsup2

My mom's 70th birthday was this week - we decided to give her 70 of something for the party so we got her 70 bulbs (to plant) - cost us about $21 at Wal-Mart (We got them in sets of 10 with one bag of 20).

That's a good budget gift although to be fair on the actual day we gave her flowers, a couple of boxes of Walkers Shortbread (yumm) and made a donation to her favorite non-profit.

My wife's favorite birthday gift from me was not her 40th, but 37th. I rented a 15-passenger van and picked all her friends up at their homes and took them all out for a night of dancing & drinking. They invited me along at the restaurant, but at the club I slept in the van. Everyone had a ball & they could all cut loose since they had a pre-determined ride home.

OP here Sorry it is for a girl I was thinking along the line of 40 of something just need cute ideas. she is single does like to cook, go to the casino, beach...

a CD by UB40....get it?:thumbsup2 I did this for my brother...and when I turned 40 he gave me one by U2:lmao:

Years back I a coworker was turning 30 and his wife threw him a surprise party. However there was a twist. Each guest was to bring another guest that the birthday boy didn't know. They were the ones that yelled "suprise" when he was brought in the room. After a few minutes of being congratulated by all the strangers, the real guests came in. It was pretty funny.
