DH and I are planning a very short trip to WDW in September to celebrate my 40th birthday - ouch!! :scared1: I am planning to celebrate in style though! I turn 40 on the first day of EPCOT's Food and Wine Festival and we'll be there! As of right now, we're scheduled to arrive on Friday, Sept. 28th and leave on Sunday, Sept. 30th. We're thinking about adding an additional night and flying down on Thursday instead.

Assuming that we fly down on Thursday, what would be your must-see and do things for adults?? I am the mother of 3 boys who are too young to appreciate the allure of the princesses, so I am never able to enjoy a princess meal!! If I really want to do a princess meal, what would you suggest?? We may do the dining plan, and I'm not even sure what the credits are for Cinderella's Castle (breakfast or dinner) - yes, I know, very sad planning on my part. I'm just starting to look into all of my options.

Going without the boys really opens up a whole new world of dining opportunities, so please share your special dining favorites! The only thing that I know DH will demand is a meal at Le Cellier!! We had a great meal there last August and DH and I would like to return.

I'd really like to try some things we don't get to do when we travel with the boys. Any suggestions would be welcomed! :goodvibes

Have a wonderful 40th! I will be celebrating right behind you. Knowing that I will be at Disney on my birthday does take the sting out of it.

Have a great time! Maggie

OMG embrace it! I turned forty last year and it truly is the most liberating feeling in the world!

Hope you enjoy your birthday !

I'll be at WDW 11/9-16 celebrating my 50th! When we were at WDW 8/06 I decided then that WDW is where I want to be to bring in the new decade.
I'm thinking of the Norway brkfst as I also have a son (teenager) and there is NO way he would go w/me! (Im going solo in Nov, taking DS in Aug). I'll be at the end of the F&W, birthday on Tues that wk and MVMCP on that Thurs before I fly back home. Also planning on booking the 2hr Segway tour.

I'll be keeping my eyes on this thread as Im looking for more ideas - thanks

i'll be celebrating my 50th during FW in october! (just a little past my actual birthday date - but wanted to be there for FW!) - enjoy your 40th!

I'll be turning 40 too in June, I won't be at Disney though. My DH and I are going in April to celebrate our 10th anniversary. We are having dinner at Victoria and Alberts. We did this for one of my other bdays too and it was great. I know it can be a little pricey but it is well worth it. Just remember, we are only turning 40 once, lets enjoy it.

Happy Bday!!

Cyndi

Disney is the best place to turn 40...Have a lovely time doing girly stuff!

Also spending my 40th birthday at Disney in May. Our first kid free trip.

Must be something about being 40 and Disney. I will be there in August for my 40th.

I think there was something to be being young back then that made it a little more magical than now. Now there is so much striving to be bigger and better than the rest, I don't think our kids get the same feeling as I did at their age.

Where does one get this birthday pin at?

I turned 40 on March 7th but we are celabrating both my 40th and DB 30th (Aug. 5th) at Disney in Sept. 07!!!!

Can we still get B-Day Pins???

I can't wait til Disney.

My laptop crashed last week :sad2: and I haven't been able to check in here. I think I was having withdrawal. :scared: Anyway, I'm glad to see that my little 40th birthday thread has some life in it. :cool1: I'm also glad that I'm not alone in wanting to spend a milestone adult birthday at WDW.

There are people out there who don't understand. :confused3 Take, for example, my DSis who will be 30 this year. She doesn't understand why I don't want to spend my 40th b-day in Paris or some place like that, but then again, she also doesn't understand that when I talk about eating in Canada, I mean Le Cellier and not actually in the country of Canada. :dance3:

We did decide to add on the extra night and I was able to switch our reservation to BWV from SSR. :woohoo: So I'm very excited right now. In just a few days, I'll start making a few ADRs. I'd really like to try O'hanas and I am leaning towards the Norway princess breakfast, instead of CRT. I also realized that we'll be there for MNSSHP, so I'm thinking about attending that. Too many things to do, not enough time, but DH can only take so much time from work (he's a teacher) and I have to make arrangements for babysitting for the boys.

It'll be OK though, because I'm already working on the next family vacation in February or April 2008. :cheer2:
