My husband is taking the kids and I to WDW 9/21 thru 9/29 to celebrate my 40th birthday. The kids bought me a pin to wear (saying It's my 40th) hoping that we may get special treatment along the way on our trip. Is it worth the embarassment wearing the pin? Has anyone else done this? I don't want to disappoint my family since they worked on planning this celebration for me.

I don't see any harm in you wearing your badge on your birthday, it may bring you special attention from the CM's and a few little suprises along the way!

And after all, you're spending you're 40th in Disney, enjoy every second of it and wear your bagde with pride!!

i celebrated my 40th at DL~ someone told me to go to the City Hall where they gave me a BD "sticker" that i wore all day...and yes you do get some special treatment!!! Enjoy!

We have always traveled to WDW in January. It just happens that my birthday has fallen during each of our trips. We have always celebrated my birthday and I have gone to guest services at the parks to get a birthday button to wear. They also let you get a birthday phone call from a Disney character. During the day CM's and guests will notice your button and wish you a HB. I'm not the type that is big on displays, but I tend to like the few responses I get during the day. Some times you even get a special treat from a CM. party: :bday:

Too funny! We'll be there together! My 40th is on the 29th and DH has booked dinner in the castle for our family that night. We're fairly local so we won't get there until the 28th after work and on the 29th we're going to do MK the way MOMMY wants to! (so they say...we'll see what really happens!!)

Wear that pin with pride! I celebrated my 40th at WDW in December 2005. I felt special just being at WDW on my actual birthday! I had my birthday "party" at the castle. It was the best birthday so far. Have fun!

Definately wear your button. Make sure to stop by guest relations and get the special Disney birthday button also. My boyfriend and I spent my 45 birthday in WDW a few years ago and I wore my pin the whole week we were there. I had my special birthday lunch in the castle and I got Mickey confetii on the table, a special desert and a Magical Moments certificate. I also received a free desert at almost every place we ate. I got alot of birthday wishes from both CMs and guests and a special card from Mickey in my hotel room.

Go for it!!, wear your badge with pride :goodvibes , I'm currently looking at surprising my DH for his 40th on the 1st Jan 2009 ;)

Be sure to let the CM know it's your birthday when you check in. (I had the candle hat on so it was hard to miss it!!) I also got the card and balloons left in my room by the Big Mouse himself!!

Oh, my 40th is listed on our room ressie and all of our ADR's. I am getting a birthday button too. Due to some health issues, I will be on an ECV, we are creating special signs to go on the front basket too. I can't wait! Maggie

I will be celebrating my 40th at WDW in June 08. I can't wait!! I will be getting the Bday button from City Hall and wearing it with pride. I'm also making me a Bday t'shirt and one for my husband that says...(front) I took my wife to WDW for her Bday...(back) and all I got was this t'shirt. Something like that anyway! I want to have my "party" at the castle for dinner. Hopefully we can get the ARD!

Anyway, wear the pin your family got you and enjoy the fun! Happy birthday!

Thanks everyone for you input. Guess I will wear my button with pride. The kids are so excited. Looking forward to our trip to the "World"

Tell me more about this pin.... Is there a special WDW 40th birthday pin that I could purchase?

We are celebrating my DW wive's 40th in February!!! :yay:

We celebrated my 40th this past January. It was the best birthday ever!! There were 13 of us and we had such a great time. I wore my birthday button and everyone wished me a happy birthday!! It was very special.:cheer2:
