My headmaster once instructed me to stand up in front of the class and asked me, "Debbie; what does 'garrulous' mean?". Needless to say, I didn't know, so he told me to look it up. After some fumbling around, he bellowed, "Someone give her a dictionary!". Then, because he clearly hadn't humilated me enough, he made me read out the definition.

Don't know what he was getting at...
