Good morning all, Does anyone have any advice on which loop is better. I requested either of those (400 or 700) because they looked to be the closest to the boat. We had asked for preferred but they did not have any so we had to move to premium. Not sure if we will get a cart or not and my sister's family is staying at WL so we thought it would make more since to stay next to the marina. This is only our 2nd trip, first to the fort last time we were at wilderness lodge. Would we save any time riding the boat the the lodge and then catching a bus to parks other then MK or just meeting them there from fort buses? When we were at WL sometimes we got places quickly and sometimes NOT. How do the fort buses compare? Also since I'm asking all the questions If we do not get a cart is the fort to big to walk? We know how great a cart would be, but we will be in the parks alot. Kenny's carts are four person carts can I fit an extra kid on there? Thanks for all the advice

If you are going to meet up with your family stay'n at the Lodge, then I would go to the Lodge & meet up with them THEN take the bus to where you wanna go. Buses take longer from the Fort so allow yourself the xtra time,,you will not save time going to the Lodge to catch a bus.
If you are not gonna meet up with the family, just take the bus from the Fort to where you wanna go.

The Fort is big, if you like walking, then go for it, the Fort is a wonderful place to see walking or with a cart, you dont HAVE to have a cart,,but a cart sure is fun, :thumbsup2

If you want quick access to a comfort station, try to get 400. 700 does not have its own and you have to cross the road to use the 400/500 one. 400 is a great location relative to the marina and the settlement bus depot, from which you can catch any colored bus to the outpost OR catch the WL bus. I sometimes think the bus is the quickest way to WL.

If you will have a dog with you, 500 is right across from the dog park and still has a good location, right next to 400.

Yes, I think you could fit an extra kid on the 4 person cart. We don't rent carts, preferring to use our bikes or use the buses to get to the Outpost for catching park buses. The Fort is great for bike riding, and you can even ride them to the WL where they have a rack to lock them up. If you do decide on a cart, they are definitely a lot of fun, especially for looping at night.

If you do have your heart set on the preferred site keep on looking. I originally could not get into the preferred loop for our dates but I kept checking every few weeks and luckily one came up. Give it a try..you have nothing to lose!:surfweb:

As long as no one has any mobility issues - I think you can handle the 400 or 700 loop no problem with just walking - you can always take the bus to the pool area. One end of the 700 loop is very close to the pool anyway. But the cart is always fun! Three small kids could fit on the back...

Some of the bus routes to the parks are actually the same bus as WL. A golf cart does help, since virtually all the buses leave from the Reception Outpost now. There is also a bus that stops at the Settlement Depot bus stop that goes to WL which would be quicker than the boat & easy walking distance from either the 400 or 700.

We got on that bus at the Settlement, went on a tour of the cg and ended back up at the Settlement. I guess they don't make a trip to WL on every spin so double check before you get on "are you headed there now or will you be coming back here..." wish I'd asked first, LOL:laughing:
