40 Years since my last Disneyland visit

I am so excited to return to my childhood Disney Park! Having been an uber WDW planner, I was wondering when I should purchase my park tickets for a January trip, arriving before the 17th? I booked my hotel through the hotel website where I am staying rather than through Disney. I hope to catch a deal on tickets, but don't know if any are ever offered on park tickets. Thanks!

Woohoo! I hope you have a wonderful trip! As for the tickets, I say, purchase them when you have the funds so it is another thing to cross of the list. There are a couple of ways to save a few $$$ purchasing tickets. LMTClub.com, Undercover Tourist, Ares, some Targets and Safeways carry park hoppers.

LMT Club usually has the lowest price on multi-day tickets. (Google for a free membership code.) If you want to pre-purchase MP with discount tickets, use UT. Check the current expiration date on the tickets being sold to make sure they will be good through the end of your trip. Also, be aware that either IASW or HM will probably be down during your trip dates -- one or the other goes down right after the end of Holiday Time for removal of the holiday overlay. Then after the first one comes back up, the other one will go down

In answer to your question about when: There is no practical incentive to order way ahead of time like at WDW (no pre-reserved FP+). But I will say that once you are 100% sure you are going, buying will protect against price increases.

FYI, we are very satisfied customers of Undercover Tourist. We especially liked getting tickets with MP included.
