40 something ladies.........hair questions

Do you think short or longer hair makes a 40 something look more youthful?
I feel like since I hit 40 I suddenly look older , way older than when in my 30's!!
I need a new hair style for sure, my hair now is kind of medium, its thick and wavy. I think I look older with it shorter, but longer doesn't work for me either, I think I need a good in between hairstyle.


also how about skincare, my skin is all of a sudden so different than when in my thirties, I use Retin A, when I remember to put it on, and a good moisturizer, but I don't see much difference.
I would love to go to the derm and see about a peel to get some of that sun damage off

I will be 41 next week.

I used to always wear my hair long, but lately it raelly makes the top of my head look flat and my hair is so thin, so when it gets long, mor scalp is exposed. I now think it looks best shoulder length with layers to give it more bounce.

I used to just moisturize in the morning but now I have been using a heavy night cream as well. I am not faithful to any brand. right now I am using the stuff that Avon has for 40+.

Depends on the woman. Some women can pull it off and it looks feminine. Brooke Shields comes to mind. But if a woman isn't aging particularly well long hair can make her look desperate to remain youthful. It can have the same effect as an older guy in a sports car. Some can do it, some can't and it's important to know where we fit on the spectrum.

I loved a pair of cool shoes but put them down yesterday. There is a fine line between looking current and looking sad and I think I would have crossed it with those shoes.

I think sophisticated trumps any other look as we age, confident goes further than a few years.

Grow it as long as you can! Long hair always makes a person look younger! I think short hair ages everyone instantly.............
