40% off select nights/resorts in 2007

I just got off the phone and I was told that you need a pin code for that 40% off promo and that I did not have one attached to my name. She checked my email addy and other info and said, "If you are going to get one you will". But she said that she had no idea how it was decided who gets them.
 
I was able to use the 40% off code without a PIN and got the room I wanted! The CM said it was a general use code. My ressie is in the system with the discounted price so I assume all is well!

The CM you spoke to is wrong.

But that's not your problem. Congrats!
 
So after thinking about saving 300$ if I just changed my travel dates.. I called back to confirm my thinking.

Sure enough.. if we changed the travel dates to Feb 26 to March 03 - we saved big.. saved almost 330$ over 5 nights @ POP on room only reservation.

Well duh. I put a hold on that and I'm trying to coordinate changing my vacation request at work ....

Again tho - I had the PIN on my account.

I was able to get the 40% deal today as well. The CM told me it was a general public offer and I had no pin code with my address/name. I hope this helps someone.:banana:
 
I was also able to get this discount after MANY calls made at CRO since last night. Let me tell you, the CRO agents are not singing the same tune and after many tries, finally got the discount for BOTH of my upcoming vacations.

I would keep calling because, I was told this was indeed a PIN code and that there was none attached to my or my family's names...and finally fell upon a wonderful CM that happily applied the discount to both of my reservations...:banana: :banana: :banana:

Just an FYI - I just got off the phone with WDTC and the 40% discount is definitely a pin code not for the general public. If some are calling and able to book this rate, it's because there's a pin code tied to their name. At least that's what the CM told me.

Just for information here

Code - the letters that the cm puts into the computer to apply the discount to your room.

Pin - the numbers you receive (or are supposed to receive) that give you access to the code. Kind of like your atm cards pin. You have an account but without that pin you cant access it.

Pin Code - a code that you must have a pin to access.

The letters that have been put on the board are the code but the pins have not been. They would indeed be different for each person and are what are supposed to be required to gain access to the code. The pin numbers as well as the code should be tied to your account and should be verified to use it. However many times since it often happens that we never get/see that postcard and call to find out if there is one, the cm can match up the reservation info with an account which has a pin and code attatched to it and wave verifying the pin itself. Apparently the cm's are able to override the whole pin thing and just enter the code which is where the problem arises.

DID you give the CM ANY information? Any letter codes or did you just say "I want the 40% off the room code". I did get the PIN Postcard but when I called the code does not apply to the dates we want to travel. Should I call another CM and try again with the May travel dates? This is so frustrating. I feel like I have to have some magical formula for how I speak to the CM"s to get the "deal". I always feel like I have no Pixie Dust ever and yet I sit with a Post card in my hands!

Short question: Did you give the CM a code to get your discount or did you just get a nice CM to discount your rooms?

I just got off the phone with CRO (Disney Travel). For the first time I received a pin offer in my email - junk mail folder, thank goodness I checked! It states it is a room only discount. I called for my travel dates ... I reserved a Water View room at the BC for 10 nights. No problem. Then I asked if I could add dining and tickets and the CM said she needed to look up a code ... the answer was yes, I could add the package. Added dining and 10 day park hoopers. I ended up saving 1732.60 off the package price quoted on the Disney website. Yeah!!!:yay:
 
I seem to be missing the code for this offer in the posts. Was it deleted because it is not for the general public?
 
When I called CRO after receiving my postcard I had to put my pin code in before I even talked to a CM. Now everytime I have called I do not need to give the pin or code as it is on my file. We were able to book 2 rooms in Dec with Dining and Park hoppers at the Poly GV - the discount is the 40% off the room portion. We saved $1030 each! I also was able to book for Oct for 3 nights at the WL.

In my case, the CM never offered to tell me the actual code - she just "looked it up" and then applied it.

A lady at work today gave me a card with a 40% discount on a value room with a free photomovie. It has a number on the front under her name highlighted in yellow. It doesn't say that it's non-transferrable. I called to see if I could use it in December, it gave different dates that it can be used and she said that it's only for the person that it's sent to. I would like to go in December and the lady at work has no interest in going. Does anyone think I should try another CM or is it reallly true that I can't use this discount? Thanks!!!

When you guys recieve these 40% off deals, do you get them in a email or mailed in your box! I have yet to EVER receive anything. I check my junk box daily too. What is the sender? What is in the subject?

Any time I get a pin code sent to my email the sender is "Disney Destinations" and the subject line reads "(Last Name) Family - Amazing Disney Resort Offer!" (this was the subject line of the last one I got) or some variation of that...has always had our last name in it and something about an offer. We've only ever received one postcard mailed to us and that was a few years ago and the offer was specific to Animal Kingdom Lodge (a REALLY good offer too...I'm so bummed we didn't jump on it). All the others have been emailed to me. The email address I get it from is vacation@registration.disneyworld.com (don't send any emails to that address, it's an automated email address). If you're worried about them accidentally being send to your junk folder, add the above email to your email address book so that your email will recognize it as one to send to your inbox and not to the junk folder.

On the Wheel in the middle of the post card it says "not transferrable". At least mine does! SOrry!
 
Ok.. first off.. any three letter codes I mention in this post are fictional and are discussion aids only.

I found a bunch of 3-letter codes. Including several different codes purporting to offer the 40% off value rates on selected dates.

I called CRO and asked about this. She said, well you need a pin to use any of those codes let's see if you have one - and I did.

Then.. for example..

ABC - this code was for 40% room discount only - no package
ABD - this code was for 40% room discount in package with tickets
ABE - this code was for 40% room discount in package with tickets & dining

Again - these are fictionalized codes.

But she was very clear that she said I needed to have a pin attached to my account to get at them.

I understand that others have had success without a PIN. Congrats. But....
