40% code rates

For you folks that have gotten "extra nice" CMs who have allowed you to book extra rooms for family members, etc, etc with the code...did you read the reservation fine print? It reads:

"In addition, Disney reserves the right to cancel or modify a reservation (including after a reservation has been confirmed) if the reservation includes or resulted from a mistake or error of any kind, including but not limited to a mistake in price or description of the package or package components, or where it appears that a Guest has engaged in fraudulent or misleading activity in making the reservation. If a package is cancelled by Disney, Disney shall have no responsibility beyond the refund of monies paid to Disney for the package."

To me, that reads that Disney CAN cancel your ressie or ask you to pay the difference if one of their CMs let you have a deal that maybe they shouldn't. Has this ever happened to someone? I for one think this isn't right...if their CMs allow you to book the package AND pay for it...I don't think they should be allowed to adjust the price based on a mistake their CM may have made. If I get quoted a price, I think as a consumer, I should not be charged additional funds OR (god forbid) have my ressie cancelled because I was quoted the wrong price.

Last year, I called and asked if I had a code attached to my name. I was told that I did and was given the 40% off code. I never had received an email or postcard offer. My ressie was honored at check-in and I wasn't charged any additional funds...but have others????

The e-mail I got with my 40% off code did not have this "fine print" on it. It doesn't even have anything close to this.

It's on the confirmation email and letter you receive AFTER you book. It's actually written in bold print

I have booked. I have even paid on my reservation. I'm just a little worried so....I was just wondering if anyone else has this on their confirmation e-mail or letter. I haven't gotten my confirmation letter yet, but it isn't on my confirmation e-mail. I have actually gotten two confirmation e-mails and it isn't on either of them.

I am hoping the person who said some PIN codes allow you to book up to 3 rooms is correct.

Does anyone else find that a little silly???

So if the info I was given by 2 CMs is incorrect, and there's no information contradicting it on the original offer, I'm somehow supposed to KNOW what the rules are? Then, after the plans are made and a deposit has been put down, the rules are explained?

Again, I'm not talking about committing fraud-- I'm big on following the rules.

I'm sincerely hoping that this confusion is about a different series of codes with different rules.

Exactly what I was saying...I think Disney should have to give you what the CMs quote you at booking. If I bought something at a store and it rang up wrong, I wouldn't except a store employee to run out saying either I have to pay more or return the item :rotfl:

If you've gotten your email confirmation...open up the link that says "click here for reservation details" or something like that. You should see your package details. If you scroll all the way down, the disclaimer I was quoting is under the category "General Conditions and Responsibility" I actually just cut and pasted it from my ressie.

I agree. It seems there is very little accountability for CM's. Most companies do honor quotes/prices, even when incorrect, but Disney appears to be against that policy.

2 rooms...I found out later that I could have booked up to 3 rooms. Many people in the thread from last year did with no problem.

It was WONDERFUL. Those that have the code, ENJOY your trips!

I keep wondering if I should call to 'check'...LOL.

When I click on the link that says "click here for reservation details" this is the fine print in mine.

** = Breaks in the guest number sequence indicate that changes were made which resulted in guests being cancelled from the booking. Under the **GUEST(S) column, guest numbers indicate which guests have purchased the feature described on that line.

I just found this!! You are right!!! I was missing it because it is at the bottom of the e-mail, but in very small, light print. This paragraph that you copied is the same one in mine.

For us it's the opposite... this is the first trip EVER for my 3 kids, and I don't forsee another anytime in the near future. That's why it's SO COOL to be able to do it in style.

If I can legally pass the pixie dust on to my sisters, that's great-- their kids have never been there either.

Well, we'll never know about the codes, at least not from me.

One of my sisters isn't free the same week we're going. The other just called to book her vacation-- and the CM found a code on the computer with her name on it:cool1:

Could someone PLEASE scan, take a photo or something and post it to show those of us never lucky enough to get a code mailer, what the blasted thing looks like?? *grin*

I'm frustrated cuz I live on a university campus (graduate student housing) and I think someone is stealing our mail at the best of times. If I find that they have taken a code mailer with my name on it, I cannot be held responsible for what I will do to them!!! Hmm...I wonder if Disney-mania is a workable defense in court???

Hi soupy one! Call Disney and ask if there is a code asscoiated with your name. If you got it in the mail it will be on record with your name in their data base as I was told by a cm. A lost code at home doen't disappear in their system.

Good luck!

They all look different. The 40% off one that they just sent was rather large..in fact, if I'm remembering correctly, it wouldn't have even fit in my mailbox at college. It would have been one of those things you would have had to pick up at the counter. Good thing is...the code is associated with your name. So if someone "accidentally" takes it...they wouldn't be able to use it.

So do these discount codes come through your mail or email? Someone mentioned calling "Disney" to see if there's a code with your name - did you mean the reservations line? Are these codes given out to rewards members or Visa card holders or just people who've signed up for the planning dvd?

Thanks,

MamaK

All three ;)

My wife got both e-mail and snail mail for 40% off (one was deluxe the other was Value)

I got an e-mail after i order the DVD online

Good luck:thumbsup2

EDIT- we weren't Visa card holders, we just went to Disney for our honeymoon last June (My wife must have filled out something and used my e-mail adress, that was the deluxe) She also just joined something on the disney website because the snail mail came to our new address

:) Just got off the phone with Wilda from Disney reservation to inquire about any code attach to my name as well as my party travelling with me. No luck this time BUT she told me that it is possible that the codes will be available in the next 2 weeks so I'm keeping my hopes high:woohoo: :woohoo: Also, I've looked in my e-mails to see if had ever receive pin codes in the past and I did!! TWICE in 2004!! And it wuz from Disney Destinations. :scared1:

We didn't get a card in the mail or an e-mail. We booked our trip for December 08 a week after we returned from our wonderful first trip at the Poly this past December. I also signed up for the planning dvd. After reading the boards about a 40% code--I called twice a day for a good week---no luck. My hubby said we should just cancel our ressie and hope for a code. It would be too expensive too close to christmas to go for a whole week at full price. I knew that financially he was making a lot of sense, but the tinkerbell in me just didn't want to hear it.

I called for another couple of days with hubby harping in my ear to "just cancel". I think it would have killed him to pay full price when he knew that others were getting 40% off. I finally got up the nerve--spoke with a CM and asked her to look to see if we had a code--expl'd that my hubby wanted me to cancel etc..--she looked--no code--accidentally got cut off as my 18 month old switched off my computer modem. I called back 5 MINUTES later spoke with another CM--said what the heck--I'll ask her to look again before I cancel---OH MY GOD--GUESS WHO HAD A 40% CODE?? Now I don't know if we just luckily had the most wonderful CM working that day OR it could be the fact that she took the time to look under all of our names. All I can say is DON'T GIVE UP--KEEP CALLING RESERVATIONS!!
