$40 A Day

Rachel Ray from food network, is on doing a specail at Hilton Head, Sc. Not sure if she will be close to anything that's Disney, since I have never been to HH, but thought I'd let all you HH lovers know.

We watched this last night and now we're interested in going to HH! I really didn't know much about this part of the country but it's really pretty there! Too bad it's not close enough to WDW to split a trip like we do at Vero.

She did Orlando a few shows ago. We ate at Cafe Tu Tu Tango right on International Drive. We always have one meal there. One of my favorites.

I watched this show last night-for the second time! For anyone who's gone to Hilton Head, she went to Old Fort Pub, Signe's Bakery, Sea Shack, and Hudson's. One of my goals at HH is to go to all 4 of the places she went. Got to Hudson's last time-last night DH saw that stuffed French Toast at Signe's and now it's a "must do" on our next trip. Anyone else ever been to any of those (especially Signe's)?

I have actually been to all of them LOL!

Funny that these places seem to last. Hudsons was there when I first went to HH and that was years and years ago. (Probably close to 30 years ago!)

HH is surpose to be only 6 hours from WDW - I would think a split trip would be possible?

lol Spicey - had to go and check that on map quest. Seemed like too short of a drive time, but you were dead on.

I love $40 a day. We try to watch it for cities we are interested in visiting, mostly because the kinds of places she goes are usually the best types for really experiencing a place.

That surprises me too Spicycat. I thought it was much further away than 6 hours. That's not too bad of a drive especially now that DD is older!

Signe's for breakfast has been one of our favorites for a few years. My favorite on their menu is the frittata, which changes ingredients daily. Hope you get a chance to go there soon....

We did the drive last year and it was 5 hours from WDW to HHI- we will be doing it again in 3 weeks, but driving from Port Canaveral (after our Wonder cruise) up to HHI- It should be about the same as from WDW. It's a straight shot too; right up I-95 to the HH Exit. Easy as pie and nothing as relaxing as HH after a WDW stay- all the Disney; none of the theme parks!!!

No problem!...couple of Mickey bars, couple of bottled waters and a couple of small bags of Mickey pretzels - on you're right on budget!
