have some fun news to share....Megan and I were talking about our upcoming WDW trip and we've decided to change our dates a bit! she will only miss one extra day of school, but we will have more time with our DIS friends this way!

our new dates are 11/23 - 12/6 checked with TA last night and they had room available so we are good to go! now have to keep stalking the airlines for some decent priced tickets!

Day 1!

today my girl turned 13! where has the time gone we got up and ready for the day, took Megan to school and I came home and finished packing and loaded the car.

picked Megan up from school at 11 and drove to my mom's house, then off to the airport! traffic was pretty light and so was security, so we had plenty of time to have a "real" lunch in one of the restaurants before heading to our gate! I also gave Megan her letter surprising her with staying at the DLH resort for the entire trip, she was THRILLED!

flight went great and we landed around 530, waited a bit for the shuttle to leave and drive us to DLH! think we checked in around 630!

was so excited that we received some pixie dust at check in! when I asked if it was possible for a room upgrade (I had paid for a standard view) the CM said we already had been to a pool view! he did Megan's Happy Birthday button and also had a signed black & white photo of the princesses for her!

we got up to our room on the 7th floor of the Fantasy Tower (main bldg.) and there was a surprise in the room for Megan from lovethattink (Michelle) and her family

as you can tell Megan was thrilled and so thankful they had thought of her and surprised her!!!

we took a few photos of our room, this was our view

the amazing headboard,, it made a nice night light during the night too!

we got unpacked and settled in a bit, when I went to put my valuables in the safe it wasn't working right, within 10 minutes of calling they were up and fixed it!

headed out to take a few photos of the resort before our dinner ressie at 8pm at Steakhouse 55.

we checked in for dinner and were seated pretty quickly...we both ordered the filet and shared sides of broccoli with garlic and potatoes au gratin and shared the crème bruele for dessert....Megan also got a 'birthday' dessert of chocolate mousse

dinner was so yummy...I didn't take any photos other than the dessert, seemed weird since it was a nicer restaurant and didn't see anyone else taking them.

we had planned on going to the DL park that night for a bit, but decided to skip it and get to bed early so we could be up early enough to be in line before 7am as we got early entry every day of our stay - thankfully! we took advantage of it!

on the way back we did a little bit a shopping in the resort store and each picked up a new t-shirt and a little gift for a friends DD bday before heading back up to our room, got everything laid out for the next morning and were in bed about 10!

Sounds like a great first day. Hurray for the upgrade! I'm glad she liked the basket. You do so much for people on the DIS, I thought it would be great to send Megan some pixie dust. Besides, we love her.

How great that you are able to increase your stay at WDW this fall. Yay! More time to see you two.

I can't thank you enough for doing that for her Tink we love you guys too!

we are excited for the extra couple of days...we will have to plan some days together, probably the week after thanksgiving with you guys!

we can't wait to see and meet our friends in WDW...its a group of families I know from the boards here on the scrapbook forum and of course spending time with Michelle & family (lovethattink) and we hope to get to meet KatMark and Todd and Nicki too!

It was a fun day Gail! Michelle had called me that morning about ordering it, Megan was so surprised and touched! we are excited for the extra couple of days too!


proud mama moment! Megan made honor roll for second trimester with six A's and one B! and received lots of great comments from her teachers!

today have some errands to run, nail appt. and pick up some clothes from a friend who's donating them to BeLikeBrit plan on doing an update tomorrow!

Day two!

one of the best perks about staying on property was getting into the parks an hour early...believe me, it was needs later on in our trip! with having our AP we had two options for the weekend EMH's! could go to DL which was the hotel EMH or DCA with our AP EMH...no brainer, we did DCA with our AP!

I got up at 530, showered and got Megan up at 6, we were in line by 645! first up we went to Carsland to ride RSP...which was running yet so we had a decision to make...wait in line or ride other stuff and get a FB before the 8am opening of the FP line....we choose the second option!

we rode Mater's Junkyard Jamboree first....this ride just makes you laugh, it kind of swings you around!











we grabbed some fruit and water for a quick breakfast at the Fillmore's Taste-in... RSP still wasn't running, so we went to ride Luigi's Flying Tires....this is a "bumper car" ride, the tires float on air...was fun, but probably something we would ride again!













RSP was finally running and the wait time was about 25 minutes so we jumped in line!after we raced we walked back to pick up our PP+ card at the photoshop and then over to Paradise Pier to ride CA Screamin' --- TWICE in a row! and then TSMM







I won yet again! love this ride!



it was getting close to 8am so we walked back to the FP line for RSP and got in line, they opened the line and we watched the masses waiting for the rope drop to head to Carsland! FP in hand for 920-1020 return time, we were probably 200 people back in the line, we head over to ride ToT...a few photos on the way





after our ride to the Twilight Zone we went back over to ride CA Screamin' two more times....still about a 10 minute wait at that point before getting in line for RSP FP... I will share our PP photos after I get them, our CD shipped yesterday so should have it in a couple days! we finished our second road trip through Ornament valley of the day and walked through a couple of the stores!!

it was about 1030 and since we hadn't had much for breakfast and had ridden our top rides numerous times we decided to head out for the time being! we stopped for an early lunch at EofS and both got the capresse sandwiches before heading back to spend a few hours at the pool!

Day two cont...

we got changed and headed to the pool....Megan did the slides a couple times and then swam around for a bit, I found a shady spot to relax and hang out! we ordered a couple of icy drinks and snacks to enjoy while we enjoyed the afternoon.

after we got cleaned up from the relaxing afternoon at the pool we chilled in the room for awhile before heading back to DCA for the evening!

we decided to see the Aladdin show...we love this! the Genie does a bunch of ad libbing and he was in rare form! don't think we've ever laughed so much, you could tell the cast was having problems keeping a straight face!





































after the show we walked over to Animation Academy to see what character was going to be drawn...it was the Cheshire Cat! so we waited and here are our "masterpieces"



the park was pretty busy, so we decided to head back to the hotel for dinner! we ate at the Tangaroa Terrace, Megan had a cheeseburger and I had the tamarind bbq chicken, both were good and filling!

headed back up to our room to watch some tv and bed early!

We would love to meet up at the pool! I have heard wonderful things about it but have yet to go there. As soon as Kara can get her ear wet ... Hopefully next month!

Lisa, some really great updates and pictures! Your hotel looks so nice, and WOW what a pool area!!!

Looks like a lot of fun at CarsLand, and nice job on the TSMM score! I didn't realize they had an Animation Academy at DCA.

And what a wonderful surprise Michele sent for Megan's birthday! How cool that she is 13 and the accent on 13 on the picture frame that goes along with it. That didn't register to me until I noticed that!

BTW Tink, you made a small appearance in my latest TR update where I finally got around to posting about Rachel's performance at HoB........

You did get a lot of things done so early in the morning!! I don't think we've ever left a park before noon! We would have pushed through and done at least a couple more things.

But I will say I may have to start rethinking where we stay if we can get into the parks early more than just once per trip so we can experience the lower crowds.

Hi Lisa, You and Megan got to do quite a bit on your second day and got to relax too at the neat pool area at your hotel. I love the Aladdin show and so glad that they have kept it going. Love all the pictures you took of the Carsland rides to see more of the details there.
