The Cast... Myself, DH, 2 DSs 3 & 6, and our neighbors, 2 adults, and 2 DSs, 4 & 6. We stayed at ASMO and were very happy there. The other couple hadnt been in 17 years and their kids had never gone, so they wanted to do whatever I planned...no pressure there. ;)

Friday 8/29

By today, either I had worn out the other family or they were sick of me and my commando touring, because they decided to bail on "the plan", LOL! They wanted to sleep in. They did that, had a leisurely breakfast at the food court, went miniature golfing, and then back to the pool.

On the other hand, we did our usual quick bite at the food court and then headed to MK. We were at the bus stop by 8:00 and at the MK at 8:30. At 8:45, they let us through the turnstiles but just to the front part of MK. Soon after, they started the show with the Mayor and characters arriving on the train. When that was finished they let us into the MK, but only to the ropes at the lands. We were at Adventureland, and by 9:00, they let us in. We went for Aladdin but that was having problems, so we went to Pirates of the Carribean. Then we wanted to do the Jungle Cruise, but that didn’t open until 10:00(along with the Tiki Room). But Aladdin was now up and running so we rode that, before heading to the Haunted Mansion. After HM it was back to the first show of the Tiki Room, then the Jungle Cruise. Our skipper was William and he was the best one we ever had. Very funny! At 10:45 we lined up for the 11:00 show of Goofys Jamboree, while DH ran to get FPs for Buzz. He made it back in time for the show and we really enjoyed this. Unfortunately, my kids weren’t really getting into this (I think they didn’t know what to expect and were a little overwhelmed), but the kids who did get into it were having a ball. Next it was off to the Swiss Family Tree House, then we had a snack of Dole Whips. It was now our FP time so we headed over to Tomorrowland and rode Buzz, and the kids wanted to do TTA again too. By now it was 12:30 and hot so we decided to head back to the resort to swim.

After a quick snack at the food court, we met up with the others at the pool. We swam and relaxed for a while when the clouds moved in and the rain started. This was our cue to start getting ready for the evening. We were really lucky with the rain on this trip. It seemed to come around our schedule, LOL. ;) We didn’t need to wear our ponchos once.

By 4:00 we were at the bus stop and arrived at MGM by 4:30. We went right to find our spot for the parade. Thanks to some great advice I got from these boards, we had the perfect spot… a seat where no one could stand in front of us. We were on the walls, near the statues, next to Sounds Dangerous. The parade started at 5:00(with a little entertainment starting around 4:45) and was over by 5:20. We then headed to Mama Melrose for our 5:30 PS with the Fantasmic Dinner Package. We had a little bit of a wait here, maybe 20 minutes, and then we enjoyed a wonderful meal. After dinner we tried to fit in the Great Movie Ride before heading to Fantasmic, but the CM at the door suggested us not going on since there was a 20 minute wait and it was getting late. Instead we just walked around and checked out all the famous handprints. We ended up arriving at our entrance to Fantasmic earlier than we needed to, but it was still nice to not have to wait in line, rush around to get there, and to know we would have a seat. I was so glad to see this show since we had missed it last year due to rain(after doing the FDP). It’s really an amazing show and a great way to end the trip.

Saturday morning we got up, ate at the food court, packed up the car and we were on the road again…for another 24 hours.

All in all we really had a wonderful trip. As much as we like our neighbors I was a little worried traveling with another family. I had read some not so positive reviews of people who have done this and that scared me. But we did it, had a great time, and we are all still talking to each other. ;)

and enjoy the vacation the way it should be.....thanks so much for all your work in doing this report.........how did you like the food court at all star movies......we have been there before but not for three years......it was excellent back then .....thanks again

Sounds like a great trip. I'm sure neighbors were thankful for all of your planing. Looking forward to hearing about your next trip to the Swan.

Pumba, we love the food court! There is a great variety, which is perfect for my picky kids(and me ;) ), and everything is reasonably priced. The taco salad is awesome, and huge too! The pastries were always so fresh in the morning.

GreatBiscuit, I think they did have a good time. In fact, they ended up treating us to Chef Mickeys to show their appreciation which was very nice of them. I think they will be going back again in the future, or at least thats how it sounds.
Since getting back from this trip, and the AP rates coming out, our next trip will now be 4 nights at the Swan, and 5 at the Poly(my favorite for Christmas and my birthday).

I have to agree you are very brave to travel with another family... everything seemed to go great, but I imagine things could have turned ugly LOL.. you just never know.
