The Cast... Myself, DH, 2 DSs 3 & 6, and our neighbors, 2 adults, and 2 DSs, 4 & 6. We stayed at ASMO and were very happy there. The other couple hadnt been in 17 years and their kids had never gone, so they wanted to do whatever I planned...no pressure there. ;)

Mon 8/25

This was our first park day so we were up bright and early. We had a quick breakfast in the Food Court and were at the bus stop by 7:15. We got to AK by 7:45 and the lines were already pretty big. The park opened at 8:00(EMH day) and we were off to the Safari. We were really surprised at how crowded AK was. We even had a short wait for the Safari that early. After the Safari we were on our way to Its Tough To Be A Bug when we ran into another family we know from school (they have a son in the same grade as the two 6 yos). We chatted with them for a while before heading to ITTBAB. We got into this with just a 5 minute wait and wished we hadn’t, LOL! All 4 kids were freaking out, and we ended up leaving. I think its because they weren’t used to all the special effects yet…by the end of the trip they probably would have handled it better. We did see quite a few other people with small kids leaving too. After that it was off to Dinoland, where we had more fun. We rode Triceratops Spin with a 5 minute wait, and then went to the Bone Yard Playground. We ran into the other family again so all the kids played together for a while there. We then left to get to the 10:45 show of Tarzan. Everyone liked this. After the show we used FPs for Dinosaur which we had gotten earlier. All the kids came in the preshow, but only 1 rode it. We did the child swap with the rest of the kids. By then it was around noon and very hot so we went back to the hotel for a lunch/pool break. This was when I first realized my compulsive planning had helped out. The other couple commented if they were here alone, they would still be sitting in the hotel room deciding where to go for the day. ;)

By the time we got out of the park after a little shopping it was about 12:30, and 1:00 by the time we got back to ASMO. We had a quick lunch and a dip in the pool then it was time to get ready for the night. This was perfect timing as it started pouring then. By the time we were ready to leave the rain had stopped.

Tonight we had 5:20 PS for the Kona Café at the Poly. We took a bus to MK then a monorail to the Poly and arrived around 5:00. We were seated within minutes. This is my favorite restaurant and once again it did not disappoint. After dinner we hopped a monorail to MK since tonight was FITS night. When we arrived there was a 25 minute wait for Buzz, so we grabbed a FP and took a ride on Tomorrowland Transit Authority. By then we had a few minutes until our FPs time so we did some shopping and then were able to hop on Buzz. It was then about 8:00 so we staked out our spot for FITS, the benches between the Plaza Pavillion and Timekeeper(I think that is what that building is), and sent the guys to get ice cream at the Main St Parlor. They returned with dessert just in time for the fireworks. The highlight of this day was I finally got to see Tinkerbell fly. Its never worked out for us before. After FITS we took our time exiting the park as Ive heard that is the way to go to avoid crowds. This sort of backfired on us since by the time we arrived at the bus stop all the lines were all huge! We did get to see the Electrical Water Pageant while in line, but we didn’t get back to the resort until well after 10:00 and by that time the kids were all exhausted…but it was worth it. We had a great night! :)

thanks so much for your great trip.......I know the special effects at the bug show is kinda intimidating........I love the dinosaur ride though......whip lash and all......thanks again

Sounds like a great day. It's amazing what HUGE difference pre-planning makes on a trip. Glad you got to see Tinkerbell fly! I've only seen her once myself.

We stayed at the movies from wed 8/13 trhough fri.8/22. They day we arrived was the best for weather. We had a few other days where the rain would start after 230. But one day at TL, our first visit, We got there at 10ish and then around 230ish they announced a storm brewing. We just made it back to the hotel. It was the WORST storm i have ever seen. Then we pretty much had rain everyday, sometimes a sprinkle, but all day. We just put the ponchos on and stayed. A lot of people left when the rains started. This is the first trip with weather like this. We could still swim though, cause it was very warm out. We liked the Movies, but DH likes the Music better. All in all we had a great trip , but if we go back next year we might wait for Sept.

Dippy, that sounds like our trip last year. We had a lot more raint han the typical midday showers and some things we didnt get to do because of it(No fantasmic after doingthe FDP, and they closed the Poly pool the one day we were staying there).
I just noticed, you are from Woburn. So am I! :D

Wonderful trip reports ~ Thanx for sharing!!
