Not sure anyone has run into this but I noticed the 4-day tickets I have with my vacation package cost more than if I buy them separately with the 4-park magic ticket promotion. We are a family of 4 and are being charged $1908 for the tickets that with our vacation package. If I do the 4-park magic ticket promotion it costs $1578. Am I missing something with this? I would assume that you would get the best ticket prices when you book a package deal but it looks like I could save $330 if I buy them separately. Thanks for any help!

Yep, you save when you buy them separately. As long as you link your hotel and your tickets to your account, you can still get Fastpasses.

Thanks! Do you still get to do the fastpasses at the 60 day mark since I am staying at a Disney hotel?

It's because you have 4-day base tickets connected to your package. Those tickets cost more than the 4-park Magic ticket. If you are only planning on visiting each park once, the Magic ticket is a good deal. If you are planning to visit one of the parks for more than one day, the Magic ticket will not work with your plans.

Yes, as long as you are staying at a WDW resort (or qualifying good neighbor resort) and have valid ticket media linked to your profiles in MDE (it doesn't matter how or where you bought them), your FP+ reservation window will open 60 days prior to check-in.

Awesome! Thanks so much.

We did get the 4 park magic ticket and saved. The only catch is you can only go to each of the parks once. So no using two different days for magic kingdom or any others. It works for us.

It's because the tickets with your package are regular 4 day tickets. If you choose to use those 4 entries by going to MK twice and AK twice, or visit ANY park more than once during your stay, you can.

The 4 park magic ticket promotion only allows you to enter each park ONCE. Meaning, you cannot visit any park more than once during your stay. That's why it's cheaper than regular 4 day tickets, you lose some flexibility.

If you planned on visiting each park once, then it's no big deal. But if you had any plans to revisit a park during your stay, the magic ticket isn't going to be the right fit for you.

Just chiming in that you can also add a water park to a magic ticket for a lot less than adding the “plus” option to a package. That is what we are doing for our trip and it is a great deal.
I also added a water park & NBA experience... My concern is that I heard conflicting info from Disney castmembers. One said once you get into the park you can't leave and reenter, another said you can reenter but can't visit any other parks. did anyone use 4 park magic tickets? were you able to reenter the park?

You can always leave and reenter the park on the same day. I think what the CM was trying to communicate is unlike a base ticket, you can’t return to (“reenter”) a park you’ve already visited on a different day. So if on Tuesday, you enter MK, you can leave and return as many times as you want on Tuesday. But you can’t go to MK on Tuesday and then go back to it again on Thursday like you could with a regular base ticket

Not true..

Correct.

I’ll add a wrinkle. If you add the water park option to the Magic ticket could you do say AK from say open to 2 PM and then go to the water park for the balance of the day on the same day(or vice versa) or would that be doing more than one park in a day and not allowed?

Like all WDW tickets that include a Water Park option(s,) the Water Parks and Theme Parks do not "interact" with each other.
You can use a Water Park option on the same day as visiting a Theme Park... or on a different day.
It's your choice.

If purchasing the 4 park magic ticket promotion, the tickets are valid for any 4 days within a 7 day period (1 park per day and each park only once). The cost of the promotion varies by day, so I was able to save extra $ by moving my projected arrival date up a couple of days, but I'm still only using the tickets the last 4 days of that 7 day period. Hope that makes sense!
