Hi,

In my 12th grade English class we have to write a 4 page paper on who we think changed the world for what ever reason, I chose Walt Disney. However I can not find any website that gives me a direct story on him, almost every source is different right down to where he was born... If anyone can give me any good facts or opinions on why he changed the world I'd be very very grateful. Thanks!

- Matthew.

Hi! You need to complete your registration process so you can post on our other boards and I can move your question to where you will get more responses.

Have you tried looking for Disney biographies at the library? The internet is not always the best source for research--and especially a chat forum. I know there have been some excellent books written about him and his life.

As a teacher I encourage you to check with your local library and see what you can find!:teacher:

I haven't personally read it, but I've heard that this one is an excellent look into Walt's life.

Walt Disney: The Triumph of the American Imagination by Neal Gabler

I think its available at most bookstores as well as Amazon.

Hope this helps a little!

born december 5 1901 in chicago illinois died december 15 1966 in Burbank CA of Lung Cancer his remains reside at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California.
that book that was mentioned is one of the best books on Walts life and career
do a general search on Walt Disney and you should find some sites to locate

I can't believe I'm recommending this... but have you tried Wikipedia (www.wikipedia.org)?

I would STRONGLY suggest not using Wikipedia as a source (since it can be edited by anyone), but it is good for two things:

1. It can give you a good overview and a place to start.
2. It can give you a bunch of other online sources (which may be more acceptable to your teacher than Wikipedia).

After that... sorry bubba... hit the library. There are all sorts of good biographies of him.

Hi Tiny,
I work with various reading groups. My fourth graders are reading about Walt's early life right now from an old text book. If you still need the info, I will pass it along.
