Okay, I've been lurking here for a week or so, but still have questions about Palo ressies and AP for the four night. Any help would be appreciated.

1. What times are possible for Palo ressies? i.e. 6:30, 6:45, 8, etc. Wondering if I can take DS to kids club in time to make Palo on the first night?
2. Is the AP show all about going from black and white to color and does that mean it stays in color for the rest of the cruise? If so, I think I could stand to miss this in favor of finer dining.
3. What time should I be in line to make Palo ressies?
4. What are the "cons" against Palo on the first night? Why not dive right into all that deliciousness ASAP?
5. What's the deal with double dipping? Doesn't your regular dining room staff know that you have Palo ressies and won't be eating at their table that evening?

YOu can make later ressies for Palo's the first night and the kids can be in the club. I want to say that the club opens up at 6, but don't quote me on that. I do know that they don't feed the kids that first night, but I always feed DD with french fries and a drink from the pool.

Yes, the AP show is the only night that the pictures go from black and white to color. The rest of the cruise they stay colored.

You should be in line for ressies as soon as they let you on the ship, especially since you are on the 4 night. Less spaces.

We always double dip. Can't part with our regular meal even after 3 cruises. Your regular wait staff do not know that you have ressies at Palo's unless you tell them.

BD, lol!

I'm disappointed to hear that the labs don't feed the kids on the first night. Can room service be ordered - and can the kids bring this to the lab - in case the parents want to do Palo the first night?

thanks all!

Another mom and I did Palo's first night (missed Tritons - but it was great to have it on the last night) and fed 5 hungry children. NO PROBLEM - they ate Plutos on deck and it was wonderful (we sat with them) - our reservations were 8:30. Then they went to the lab (and paged us 10 minutes after dinner started that they were leaving and off to other places but that is another post - have no fear they were old enough, in our opinion to stay together and go where they stated on the pager).
The kids were "wound up" on the first night and having a relaxed dinner on deck was perfect!
Now if you are going to miss AP, I don't recommend this plan - once you get your KTW card you will know your rotation and can make plans from there.
BTW- there were plenty of open reservations for the first night at Palos.

On the four-nite, unless it would be missing AP, then the first night would be a good option. I know, by looking at navigators for the four-nite w/Freeport... That the scheduling for the last night.. with Dreams, the Kids Club activities, etc... is a logistical nightmare! I tried and tried to see how to fit Palo in on that last night. I had really wanted that!!! But have now decided on going the first night instead. Yes, there is also a good variety of foods on deck, and room service too. Your kid(s) won't go hungry!!!! :D

I do not think that any food is allowed in the clubs....

On our 4 night our rotation was TAPT and my parents went to Palos on the last night... that way they got to eat at all the resturants and still eat at Palos... me and my sis just ate "The Best Of...." Menu in the Dining Room by ourselves... no biggie!

On the 1st day we were in line @ 12:50 and the Navigator said they started taking ressies @ 1:30 but opened the doors @ 1 and when they did every1 went srraight to the Wednesday line! HA... who would have thought? They had plenty of space... we had the early seating (6 PM) so my parents ate @ 6 and still had time to play the Jackpot Bingo and make it in time to see The Golden Mickeys!

Happy Cruising!

We did the 4 day in May.
We had Animator's Palate for our first and last nights. They only do the show on the FIRST night. The rest of the cruise the walls and pics are black and white. Though most people think the food at AP is the worst of the three I happended to like the food and would not miss the show.
On our most recent cruise, my kids had room service the first night. You can order as soon as you get on the ship.

We would miss AP in a heartbeat for reservations at Palo...the show is really not all that exciting. The dining room in black and white is much prettier. If you like wonderful food and excellent service...head to Palo!

Okay, everyone is saying the change from B&W to color is only on the first night .... so if my first night is Triton's, and my 2nd night is AP, does that mean we won't get to see the change from B&W to color in AP?????? :(

The change in color for AP happens only on the first time your rotation goes to AP. So - if you are at AP on Sun and Wed evenings, it will only change color on Sunday.

Hope this helps!
