Usually, there is one optional dress-up and a pirate night.

Day 2 is typically the optional dress up night. Some will actually dress up on the night they dine in the fancier of the MDRs. On the Wish, that would be 1923.

Pirate Night is typically on night 3. It's almost never on the first or last night of the cruise. If you are inside your on-board activities booking window, you can look to see which day offers Pirate makeovers at BBB.

I have not seen any type of special evening party or special dress events on any cruise / line I have sailed. Cruise casual is typically the norm, thanks to tired or awe-struck and confused guests - and the possibility that luggage may not have been delivered to cabins before dinner. (That’s rare, but it does happen).

Ditto, the last night. Luggage gets out in the hall - you don’t want guests skipping an event to pack their outfits.

The trend is a lot of cruise casual, throughout a cruise. Pirates are rather casual aren’t they?

pirate night is typically night 3 (you'll know because pirate makeovers will be bookable as an activity).

You could look at navigators on disneycruiselineblog to see what is typical.

On optional dress up night? Not on a 4-night cruise. You will get the standard menu for each of the 3 restaurants during your cruise and then Pirate Night menu (repeating the restaurant location you had the previous night).
