4 hours for Soarin?

RnRC was at 200 minutes when we were there a few weeks ago. And judging from how far outside the queue the line was piled, I don't doubt it was accurate. The parks seems far more crowded than usual this year, even for spring break. Even the pre-RD lines at amEMH were huge. It's like WDW suddenly became trendy, lol! Until this year, no one I knew in real life had ever gone, now it's like everyone is either going or just got back.

Call me naive, but maybe 4 hours was an error on the MDE site???
Been only going to WDW for 3 years now, and this is the first I have heard a ride wait for 4 hours.. Is this even possible?? Wouldnt the line for Soarin have to be so long it backs to the entrance of Epcot????

Has anyone ever waited that long for a ride or know some one who has... I can see rides breaking down, but dont you then move on???

Personally, I wouldn't do it, but we have heard reports here recently of people waiting several hours to meet Anna and Elsa. I also would never camp out on the sidewalk for a few days to be the first one to get a new electronic device or game either, but people do it.

Four hours is ridiculous, but when the line is more like 90-120 minutes you have to look at things from the perspective of the first time and infrequent visitors.

Those of us who go to WDW frequently are not going to wait that long for something we have done dozens of times before. But, if this is your first, and maybe your only, trip to Epcot, and you have been told that Soarin is the best attraction in the park, it may be worth it to you to wait that long.

I always wonder what the actual wait time really is when the posted wait is that long, but I have no desire to be the one to test it out. If nothing else, though, posting a wait like that really limits the line to those who REALLY want to ride.

Another possible factor....a real nasty line of storms was going through the area. That likely drove tons of people indoors.

Five-hour waits for Soarin' or TT are not unprecedented during Christmas week, so I completely buy 4-hour ones this week.

I just checked the posted wait times for Soarin' today in TP - it peaked at 260 minutes. There are no "actual" wait times posted, which means that TP members decided not to ride (or are still in line :lmao:).

I'm telling DH that, he is determined to spend Christmas in Disney, and I keep telling him he would be miserable with the crowds.

I'm wondering if today was a combination of crowd and a ride closure for a brief period, although a lot of people must have given up in that case to drop the wait down to just over 2 hours. Even 2 hours is too long for me, but 4 is not doable. All I can think about is how we would possibly handle bathroom breaks, since one of us would be outside the ride with our baby and the other in line with DS...

Definitely not for the faint of heart or small of bladder.

It helps to know where all the "hidden" bathrooms are in the parks. On NYE at EPCOT, the men's room on the backside of Imagination was over half empty. I don't have first hand knowledge of the ladies room but there wan't a line clear outside the door.
