4 gigs of pics, 3 blisters, 2 pairs of new shoes, 1 bleeding toe = our great trip!

Great update! Your pics are amazing

How cute the girls look playing hula hoop! Don't you just love it how the cm's interact with kids.

The pics of inside the gift shop bring back memories of when I worked in the local Disney store - stacking and restacking stuffed toys :rotfl2: I always felt they were alive since they seemed to move on their own ;)

Glad you are enjoying your trip with your daughters!

I love your report and am just catching up. Can you explain the transportation trading cards? I have never heard of this before and I think my kids would love this. Thanks!

How do you look at the EXIF on posted photos? I've tried and don't know exactly what to do.

I use Opanda Exif (just google it---it's free). Then when you are on your home computer, just right click someone's photo and find "View EXIF blah blah blah" and it'll bring it up, if it's available. With PhotoBucket, the EXIF doesn't get stripped---but with a lot like Flickr and SmugMug, you will get a message saying the EXIF isn't available and have to go directly to the person's site to get it.

Did you post the DC trip in the photography section? I think I saw some of those....if they were yours, now I need to go back and look. They were very good :goodvibes.

I did post some of them over there. It was my first trip (even though just a weekend) with my newly upgraded D90, so I was excited to give it a good work-out. Here are a couple of my faves, if you want to look at more---they are here. (Hope you don't mind that I'm posting my link in your TR, just wanted to save you the headache of using the search function ;))

I wish I could upgrade right now. Unfortunately, all Nikon pricing has gone up 15-20%. It'll be a while before I can afford to upgrade to D700.

Believe me---I'm well aware of the rise in prices. I had been eyeing the 70-200mm f/2.8 VR early this year and was just about to sell DH on the idea that it would be well worth the money, and then they raised the price another $200 or so. $300 is obviously a drop in the bucket when talking about a $2,000 lens, but it was $300 more than I could convince DH to allow me to spend. There's always next year!! :thumbsup2

Loving the TR! Can I get a copy of your Donald picture from the Mickey's Philharmagic for scrapbooking purposes? My email is purcellhouse@yahoo.com. Thanks!!! When we were there, I wasn't able to get any photos from this ride and I completely forgot about the gift shop! You've inspired me to take more giftshop photos on this next trip!

Those CMs were fantastic. I kept watching thinking 'what a great job to have playing with hula-hoops and kids all day long at Disney World!'

I love your report and am just catching up. Can you explain the transportation trading cards? I have never heard of this before and I think my kids would love this. Thanks!

The transportation cards are a series of 3 sets (that are given to you in a complete set). There are monorail, water craft and bus sets. They have random trivia, hidden Mickey hints, etc. on them. You have to ask the driver of whichever form of transportation for them. They're free :thumbsup2!

I use Opanda Exif.

Thanks for the Opanda info :goodvibes.

Your pictures from your DC trip are beautiful. I remember watching that thread for more popcorn::.

I sure will send you a full size copy :thumbsup2. I'll have to get on my other computer to get it to you. Glad you liked it so much and that I could give pphotography inspiration for future trips!!

Sorry - went to Illinois and camped for the weekend. DH mentioned it at 9:00 on Friday morning, we were on the road by 5:00! Had a great time, weather was PERFECT!!!!

Taking DD to play practice - will post our Poly dinner update when I get back.

Made it back to Pop with time to spare. All three of us showered, cleaned up, and in our matching Hawaiian Disney dresses that I had bought for just this meal.

In preface for my next part. The girls liked to go out and stand on the balcony in front of our room. They would pull the metal security lock forward so the door wouldn't completely shut.

I was in the restroom when I hear:

Angelina: "Mommy"
Me: "What Angelina?"
Angelina: "I need you."
Me: "Can you gimme a second?"
Angelina: "My toe is BLEEDING!"

Race out to see that there is blood COVERING her foot! I run to get a wet washcloth so that I can see where she's cut and how bad it is. Whenever Gabriella gets very scared she puts her fingers in her ears (that's how you know she's REALLY scared/uncertain about the situation). Angelina is screaming and crying, Gabriella puts her fingers in her ears and runs out of the room.....of course at this point, the lock is no longer holding the door open and it closes behind her locking her out.

I gave Angelina the washcloth so she could work on her toe (WHERE IS YOUR DADDY WHO DEALS WITH BLOOD?????) and am trying to calm her while Gabriella is knocking on the door to be let back in. Calm Angelina, let G back in the room.

Apparently, in all of the in and out she caught her toe on the corner of the door and drug it across her toe. It caught on her big toe, right at the top near her nail and ripped a big piece back. At least she still had her nail!!!!

Thankfully I packed a whole new box of bandaids with us. Give Angelina an Ibuprofin because, we all know that's gotta hurt, and wrap the toe up. Now it's time to leave for the Poly to go to dinner. First we needed to stop and get yet another pair of crocs. She only had Old Navy flip-flops (which are thin and worthless when it comes to walking far distances) or tennis shoes (YIKES, not shoving her toe in those) or sandals that she was going to wear with her dress.

Luckily I found a pair of the Mary-Jane Crocs on clearance ($18 YEAH!) at Everything Pop! Decided we needed to cover the toe so in case she bumped it it would have a bit of insullation to it.

We walked outside where they drop the Mears bus people off and ask the CMs working there if the girls could sit while I go and get the van. After I explained what happened (and explained while I have a hobbling daughter) they were more than o.k. with that and even went and got Angelina a wheel chair to sit in.

Got the van, got everyone in and off we go to the Poly. Vallet parked again tonight because it was EMH's at the MK. Figured we'd eat and hop on the monorail to the park.

Get checked in at the Poly. The lobby was PACKED but they said they were pretty much on time for reservations. Few minutes later our buzzer goes off and we're seated at the table.

Dinner was served:

Dumplings:

Wings:

Then the sauces for the meat:

Then they started bringing on skewers, turkey&pork, steak and shrimp:

Angelina was really diggin' the shrimp:

IMG_3725.jpg

Gabriella wore out the dumplings and steak! I think she had 3 plates of dumplings that she ate. EVERYTHING was DELISH!!!

Time for the coconut races and the limbo stick to come out. I had attempted to get pictures. It was extremely chaotic and I wasn't able to get any very good ones. Here are just a sampling of what I ended up with:

Notice the new shoes....

After taking those, I snapped a few around the grill and restaurant:

After all of the activities for the kids were finished we waited patiently for our dessert:

Sinfully full - it was time to leave. I wanted to take a picture of the girls in front of the waterfall downstairs. We took the elevator down only to find a PP photographer already set up (tripod, lighting setup, etc.) right in front of the fountain. I asked the photographer if he would take a picture of us with my camera. Of course he said he would. Once he saw that my camera made his feel like an old 110 camera, he disconnected his and connected mine to the tripod and lighting system. I was floored that he went through all of this trouble. Here is one of pics he took:

Photo op all wrapped up it was time to head to the MK for Wishes.

Up next......can I get a few good pictures of Wishes and EMHs that keep us out beyond the pumpkin hour.

Welcome back!!

The dinner at Ohaha looks goooood (especially the dessert). We haven't been since it seems to be more of a family atmosphere and we don't have any kids yet, but if we ever do---it'll be on my list.

Love the matching dresses, so cute and so great that your DDs agreed to it. Take advantage of that because I'm sure sooner rather than later they'll be growing out of it and  when you suggest matching outfits in public. :rotfl:

Thank you for not showing a pic of the bleeding toe!! I don't like the sight of blood either! I'll be sure to pack some bandaids for our trip since we'll be staying at POP and I could see my kids doing the same thing.

Whew! I've just read your entire report in one sitting! Great report and can't wait to read more. Your daughters are beautiful and it looks like you guys had a blast!!

Love the grill shots from O'Hana's....fabulous :thumbsup2

I think I've never felt more fill than I did after eating at O'Hana's. It is sinfully delicious!

Whew! I had a terribly busy week and had a lot of catching up to do on your report! But, all done! Ready for more! Everything looks great! I want to eat dinner at Ohana when we go...after your pics, I think it's a must!

That dinner at 'Ohana's looked sooo good! Love the matching dresses - pretty and fun at the same time :thumbsup2

Oh my goodness, I'm gone away for a few days and bammmm, you've got more updates than I could have imagined. But, I'm all caught up now. I have said it before but I'll say it again.....your pictures are absolutely amazing.

Subscribing!~Great report, really enjoying it. O'hana's looked awesome. I'd love to try it some day. You and your girls looked great in your dresses!:)

Love the picture of the 3 of you at the Poly, very lovely. Sorry about Angelina's toe, sounds like that hurt, glad she was okay.

It defininitely is more of a family atmosphere. That said, they do have tables for two - so there must be a demand for couples. Remember, 'Ohana means family.' ;)

The girls didn't have much choice about the dresses. My oldest isn't crazy about matching my youngest but since I was wearing one - that made all the difference in the world.

Thank you for not showing a pic of the bleeding toe!! I don't like the sight of blood either! I'll be sure to pack some bandaids for our trip since we'll be staying at POP and I could see my kids doing the same thing.

I couldn't believe it when she did that!!!! That said, I don't know why I'm surprised - over Memorial weekend she fell off of my dad's 4-wheeler (it was stopped) and hit her knee on a rock in the driveway, I thought for sure she was going to need stitches. She's very rough on her body.

Whew! I've just read your entire report in one sitting! Great report and can't wait to read more. Your daughters are beautiful and it looks like you guys had a blast!!

HOLY COW - how long did you take to read it all???? Glad you're on board and enjoying the report. I'll try to add more tonight.

I think I've never felt more fill than I did after eating at O'Hana's. It is sinfully delicious!

It's GOT to be all of that protein - strange that there isn't a single vegi served with this meal....besides the salad that I forgot to take a picture of, at the beginning of the meal. Just no side dishes.....plates and plates and plates of meat.

Whew! I had a terribly busy week and had a lot of catching up to do on your report! But, all done! Ready for more! Everything looks great! I want to eat dinner at Ohana when we go...after your pics, I think it's a must!

Ohana was an immediate favorite of ours...for both breakfast and dinner. Looking forward to trying Kona on our next trip also.

Thank you :goodvibes. We only wore the dresses to dinner. Didn't figure the sandals we wore with them would do our feet any good at MK for EMHs that night.

Aww, thanks for the compliment. I went on this trip planning my TR before I even left :rotfl:. I know that I really like looking at everyone else's pictures.

We give a big fat two :thumbsup2 to 'Ohana.

Love the picture of the 3 of you at the Poly, very lovely. Sorry about Angelina's toe, sounds like that hurt, glad she was okay.

I bet it really did hurt. Eventually, I think she was using it for attention purposes. Not all the time, but sometimes she definitely was. She would go from hobbling along to a full speed run to get from ride to ride. I think when she would bump it (which seemed to happen all the time) it would really hurt. I pretty much kept her medicated for the rest of the trip.

I am sorry to hear about Angelina's toe I had a bloody toe situation on my last trip but mine was in the american adventure :headache:

I hope it doesn't bother her too much during the rest of the vacation!:goodvibes
