There's one month left until WDW!
The intinerary is finalized. The reservations have been confirmed. Everything appears to be in order!
The cats are staying at home, while our neighbors come over to take care of them.
Scooby is going to a friend's house for the week. He's stayed with them before, so we know he gets along with them.
I'm going to add in a little extra treat for you guys.
You all know that I'm a dancer

.
So...anyone wanna hear about my recital?
June 6, 2008.
I went to school and basically freaked out all day. I was literally muttering "5, 6, 7, 8" under my breath. (Everyone thought I was going crazy...) I went home, took a shower, and shimmied into my tights (in record time!). My mom wrestled all my hair into a bun, and I sat around until I had to put my costume on. Then came makeup (oh geez).

I looked faaaabulousss by the end (kidding). Recital started at 6, so we left around 5. Considering the traffic downtown, we made it there around 5:20, so I had plenty of time. I walked down to the dressing room area, and made my way backstage (I finally got the coveted dressing room next to the stage! Something I've wanted since I was little!). No one was really there yet, so I set my stuff down on a chair and waited. Sammi came in and got settled. We went to the other dressing room to check on her cousin, Julie, and her mom took a picture of us

By the time everyone else was there, it was about 5:50. They came in at 5:55 and told us "5 minutes! We need you onstage!".
We all hung out onstage until our teacher announced "places!". The lights went down onstage. We heard the "ladies and gentlemen, welcome..." track go on. The curtain went up. Did I mention I was smack dab in the center front of the stage?

The lights went up onstage and the music started. Let me tell you, I got SUCH an adrenaline rush at that moment! 2:30 later, we were finished. It all went by so fast! We ran offstage and the pre-schoolers went on (

) I was like "WHHOOOO LET'S DO THAT AGAIN!!!"
I plopped down while everyone else got changed (haha). I had to help Sammi with her hairpiece for her ballet number (Zorro). She looked absoultely beautiful

. I snuck back to the bigger dressing room with the monitor (we had the sound/speakers, but no monitor) and watched her ballet number. Very pretty! Between all the madness, I hung out in the hall next to the stage, talking to all the excited (and nervous!) kids
Next time I snuck out was to go to watch Sammi's hiphop number (Release). During intermission, we had to help her put her ponytail back into a bun (her hiphop number required a ponytail). It came out pretty good for a last minute deal!

I wasn't able to sneak out to watch her jazz number (Herbie: Fully Loaded) but she came offstage smiling and laughing
She became quite sad after that, because it was her last recital

so we hung out sharing memories of our years together.
I cried when I had to say goodbye to her

but we were able to

and do our "secret handshake" one more time
So that's it, really
One month to WDW! One month! One month! ONE MONTH!!!!!!!!
Sparkles, out!
