I agree with the previous poster. The parks are so close to each other, park hoppers allow you to enjoy the entire property like one, big park. I couldn't imagine only being able to visit one side of the "Disney bubble" per day. I always prefer to start my trips in
Disneyland. It's the original park, lots of history, lots of memories from when I was a kid. After a few hours of riding classic and favorite attractions, I hop over to DCA for a few hours, then hop back to DL....etc.
As far as early entry....are you staying at one of the three Disney-owned hotels (Paradise Pier, Disneyland Hotel, or the Grand Californian)? If you are, then you get early entry into one of the two parks every day. If you're NOT staying in a Disney hotel, then your park hoppers will include one early entry (Magic Morning) to Disneyland only, on either Tuesday, Thursday, or Saturday...you get to pick which one. Based on your dates, you'll have either Tuesday or Thursday to choose from. Either day would be good, really, but you may be too exhausted by the time Thursday rolls around to roll out of bed early enough to make the most of the early entry that morning, so I'd vote for Tuesday.
