I've come down with a nasty sinus infection and just can't think straight. I haven't done any packing except for sorting out the paperwork and passports.

What do I need to remember to pack for me, hubby, and two kids (4 and 10m)?

Lay whatever you want to pack out on the floor/bed so you can see it all.
Then put at least half of it away again :thumbsup2

I always make a packing list, so that I can cross things off as I pack it. That way, I have a list of what I've already packed, and I can easily go through the list to see if I forgot something.

The bare essentials are..
money, toiletries (well enough for at least a day until you can buy more),camera, shoes/trainers, summer clothes and a few winter ones! We went at this time of the year two years ago and you need layers of clothing. It was cold at night and first thing, then warmed up and by 2ish it was hot enough to swim most days.

:rotfl2:

that is just so true! I always lay all the stuff out then reduce it and still I overpack and end up washing the same stuff while there to re-wear and bringing home a load of stuff that I didn't wear and probably knew I wouldn't:confused3

Thanks. Have managed to put the kids clothes in the case on the spare bed - enough for 1 week (we're going for two, but planning to do laundry as it's going to be hard enough juggling 2 kids, a suitcase, 3 carry-ons, a double pushchair and 2 car seats without overpacking on clothing.

Hubby's clothing is going seperately as he's travelling 3 days after me (a decision I'm regretting more and more the closer we get to d-day!)

I have four little ones and we travelled in April last year with 3 suitcases for the 6 of us!! i took each of us 4 day outfits with a jacket each. two swim outfits each for the boys and 4 for me and ava. we took a swim towel each and toiletries.
we stay in a Villa so we were fine to do laundry! when you get there you will probably (or is it just me?) get conned into buying t shirts as you exit rides ect! i would say take as little as possible if you need more get it there but we need nothing more than what we went with! xx
capsulate wardrobes are the way forward for massive families like mine! x

As far as you can, I'd split the clothing between the suitcases - so if one gets lost, you still have plenty to wear.

Things I forget without a list.... Phone chargers. I pad charger. Bag to carry laundry to laundry room. Plasters for blisters. Kids teddies. Hairdryer (cannot be doing with ones attached to the wall or a draw)!

Nose spray.. It will help on the flight to calm the sinus pressure from your infection! Rain ponch's the ones for sale in the park with cost a futune.

Great advice. :yay:

For OP:
medications (including child tylenol)
entertainment for the airport/plane for the kids
favorite item the kids sleep with (stuffed animal/blanket/etc)
diapers (to get you thru until you can hit the store), wipes, etc
Tickets-airplane and Disney!
ADR/plane/hotel information

if you're driving in FL, an international DL is required now (if I remember correctly--could be wrong there)

bring an extra change of clothes for baby on the plane--if you don't, you'll have the blowout of the century!

Hand luggage should contain at least 24 hours worth of clothing (especially PJs!) in the event of delayed baggage. If travelling with children (or indeed without...) a change of clothing is also a necessity - too many "liquids" that could be "spilled" whilst on a plane...seen it all from a spilled coke to a child being quite unwell all over himself and mum...

A couple of plastic bags in hand luggage also help with this and many other situations, and can be used as laundry bags when you arrive. Take wet wipes and tissues, too. Seen many a family whip out a toilet roll in airports/on planes - works well!

Keep passports in a ziplock bag or similar - easier to find them all and protects them from getting damp/dirty in case something spills. Ditto phones, iPods etc.

I seem to be a little paranoid about spills...!

Im the same.DD spilt a can of diet coke the night before our flight over our passports. Everything essential like money cards passports etc go in a ziplock food bag.
Also take a few washing liquitabs or tablets. When onsite I prefer the smell of my own washing liqueds :)
