DH and I have been to Disney only 1 time - and that was Epcot for 1 day 5 years ago. A couple of weeks ago we decided to make a short trip to WDW as our anniversary and Christmas presents to each other. (we're both retired and healthy) We were able to get in POR and get dinner reservations for the 3 nights. We've never been Disney people and have no places we 'have' to see. We decided on Disney as it would truly be time away from the real world. I'm feeling slightly overwhelmed looking at the information available. Any suggestions for how to spend our time would be appreciated.

I would go to www.disneyworld.com and go thru the parks maps, looking at everything Disney has to offer and see what looks interesting . There is so much to do at Disney and always new and interesting little things I never noticed before that I never tire of it. POR is BEAUTIFUL, (my all time favorite resort) so you will have beautiful scenery to take in just being there....
If you think you would enjoy MVMCP then think about getting tickets for that or my favorite which is The Candlelight Processional which is an awesome choir singing Christmas songs and then a guest speaker retelling the Christmas Story, for us it is a "MUST SEE" for December. If you do not go online and check out what each park has to offer then make sure you get maps as you go to each park. Everyone has different tastes , likes/dislikes so what might be must sees for us might not be for you. I will go ahead and tell you my list tho..or a partial list as I love everything and every ride at Disney:)

AK.....EE, Its Tough To Be a Bug, Safari, Lion King, Dinosaur and if you want lunch Yak n Yeti and they have wonderful drinks there as well with a nice atmosphere

Epcot....Soarin is a MUST SEE, get fast pass for it as lines are normally long...
Test Track , Living With the Land, Mission Space , Go to Club Cool by the Fountain and try the free sodas....Beverly is nasty but you should at least try a sip :), I like the Nemo ride but thats because I like Nemo..lol....and Turtle Talk with Crush is cool :):) as is the aquarium . Everything at World Showcase is wonderful, and if you drink alcohol you should try the frozen Margaritas by Mexico and the Orange Slushies by Frnace....mmmm :) Illuminations at night

HS....Tower Of Terror is a MUST, and if you are into Roller Coasters RRC is great :) Beauty and the Beast, Voyage of the Little mermaid, Toy Story Mania is a MUST :) Back Lot Tour, The Christmas lights are Beautiful do not miss them , Disneys Animation....The Great Movie Ride..Fantasmic at Night

MK....what can I say, to me this is DISNEY...for one thing...WISHES!!!!!!!!!!!!! and the Castle.... Pirates of the Caribbean, Splash Mountain if its not too cold, Thunder MOuntain RR, Jungle Cruise, Go explore Tom Sawyers Island, as well as the Treehouse, Stitchs Great Escape but hold your breath after he eats chili dog, The Laugh Floor, have your joke ready to text, The Transit Authority (people mover) is nice for a sit down break, Carousel of Progress is a must see for me, Hall of Presidents if you have never seen it. A Cinnamon Roll from the Main Street Bakery.....Watch all the events happening on Main Street. Hot Dog from Caseys, Dole Whip Float.................

There are amny many more things to see and do at WDW.. I have been going since 1999, most years I go at least 5 or 6 times and I never tire of it
