4 days enough in April?O

Ok, so this will be our first trip to DL; we've been to WDW 20+ times.

We're planning on doing 4 days at DL and 2 days at US mid-end of April '09.

Is it busy during that time of year, or will 4 days at DL and 2 at US be enough time to see pretty much everything?

April is pretty much not busy - compared to summer, 4 days should be enough to get through the parks and see everything!! But then again on the last day - we are always whining why do we have to leave?!?

Also remember weekends are somewhat busy - more locals than during the week..

Four days at DL will let you see everything... we often go in April and it's reasonably quiet depending on when Easter falls.

Two days is probably one too many for US though.

How crowded does it get for the day after Easter week? Also how is the weather at that time? Thanks.

Weeeeelllllll.... Easter's on the 12th, and conventional wisdom says that DL gets crazy busy the week before and the week after Easter. Regardless of when it is. As it gets closer, you might want to keep an eye out for the park hours to be posted for your dates. That's a pretty good indication of how busy Disney expects it to be. If the entire week is 8 a.m.-midnight, you could be in trouble.

We went the week after Easter this year-- it was in late March, but oh, man. Record breaking crowds. It was INSANE.

About US: I've read again and again, and also seen in guidebooks, that you really only need one day for US. I'd give that extra day to DL. 5-day hoppers are only like 10 bucks more than 4-day.

But 4 days is enough to see most everything, and do some of your favorites over again!

I cannot state often enough the sentiment for avoiding Dl. during the week of Easter, like one would avoid the plague! last year, having thought oh, the year before in April was nice, not hot, not crowded, well, I did not pay attention to the fact that last year, my trip would fall upon the week of Easter! OMG! crowded, rude people, commando baby strollers, strollering upon and across your toes, even the weather was stinking hot! well for me it was hot anyway, I do not do well in the heat, I have to really work on staying cool, otherwise Dl, might find me passed out in the Tiki room from too much heat outside! he he! cannot think of a better place to pass out at! well there or HM or POTC. Anyway, I most strongly suggest not to plan on visiting during that week.

Gail, I am really quite surprised that when you and your family visited DL. the week after Easter, that it was still insane, that is rather shocking to me, I wonder why the huge crowds?

Maybe I should check hydrooguy's holidays list, but Im thinking by easter week you mean the one following Good friday. If then, you mean the week after that will be your visit time, then I think you will be fine.

Weather is generally not too hot, quite pleasant, (you might need another layer at night), and crowds are lighter.

Thanks for all your help. The week after Easter(12th) - 13-17 is my kids Spring break. Which is probably have the population We have never been to DL always go to DW because it is closer! The kids have been dying to go to DL.
