4 day veteran seeks 7 day advice

Our family has been on a few four days cruises and pretty much have the boarding scramble down pat. (thanks largely to this board) We will soon be taking our first 7-day cruise (Eastern). I understand that in addition to dinner there are a couple other Palo events (Brunch and Tea) that we'll want to partake of. Can anyone offer some advice on the best days/times to shoot for to avoid conflicting with others things?

We always booked our Palo dinner on the 4-day for the final night, but I don't have a clue about the 7-day for dinner or the other events.

Any other changes to look our for on the 7 for someone accustomed to the 4 day would be appreciated.

Are the character breakfasts something we have to book, or are they assigned? What else am i missing?

Thanks!

I would think that Palo reservations are easier to get on the 7-day, since there are more times but the same amount of people. Brunch is served only on sea days (a limited time on Key West day on the western itinerary), as is High Tea, which is served in the afternoon. We usually just pick a Palo time and go, and don't worry about what we'll be missing, so I can't really offer any suggestions there. They take reservations for all three at the same time/place.

The character breakfasts are assigned. You servers will tell you when yours is. I think it is the morning after you see the Animator's Palate show, but that may have changed.

One of the rotation restaurants on the 7 day you will be dining 3x.I would recommend Palo for the last night, since that will be your 3rd time at that regular rotation restaurant...

How do "theme nights" affect this - from my reading it looks like the last night might be some kind of theme - better to miss this than than anything else?

I'm starting to get the picture that it's a lot harder to "not miss anything" on 7 night...Poor me. :)
