4 day passes--Do we need park to park?

First time going to Universal. We are taking advantage of the 2+2 ticket promo. We are staying at Cabana bay so will get early access but no express passes. Would we be ok with the one day park passes instead of park to park given that we are spending 4 days at the park? Not sure if it's worth the extra money to get park to park. I know we won't be able to ride the Hogwart's train, but I'm ok with that.

Thanks!

I wouldn't miss riding the Hogwarts Express but we are HP fanatics. If you're fine with no HE then I say you don't need park to park. 4 days is plenty of time to see and do lots at all the parks

Do you have kids with you? Being able to go park-to-park with kids makes it so worth it. If you don't have kids with you and don't mind missing the train, then you'll be fine. We love the flexibility of park to park and can't imagine doing it without - but we also have kids.

This comes up a lot and while you don't NEED them, I think they are totally worth it. The parks are very close together so switching between them take about 10 minutes (depending on where you're at). Our family switches up to 4 times a day to avoid crowds or hit another favorite ride/restaurant. It really doesn't even seem like switching parks so for us we wouldn't go without park to park.

I find that since the parks are right beside each other, it is really nice to just be able to hop back and forth depending on the mood. We generally do a bit of each on each day.

I agree with the above posters. We always get, and use, park hoppers. I can't imagine going without them.

We love starting early at one park, walking to Citiwalk for lunch (love Red Oven) then going to the other park after lunch.

It's a great way to try to avoid the crowded spots. Even at Disney, where park hopping isn't nearly as easy, we always spring for the park hoppers for that same reason.

At Universal, I think the only time we spent a full day at one park was right after Hogsmeade opened and we had to get there early just to get a return time ticket so get in Hogsmeade in the afternoon. Otherwise, we park hop whenever we feel like it.

But, as others have said, it's not necessary.

P2p are a good thing to have

If one park has crowds or many rides down, so easy to go to the other park then

If you don't have ep, p2p tickets are the next best thing to have

We have spent 22 days there in the last 4 years and have never gone a day without visiting both parks.

I don't think you need it unless you want to ride the Hogwarts Express. We love this ride so would not go without park to park access.
Four days is plenty of time to see both parks without park to park.... you just have to decide if the Hogwarts Express a must do.
