Hey everyone,
We're thinking about doing a 4-day cruise in January. What is the weather like? Is the cruise very crowded in the beginning of January? Any info or tips about January cruising would be appreciated. Thanks!!!

January is a great time to cruise. The weather is warm, but you could need a windbreaker in the evenings with the ocean breezes. The ship is generally not too full (not a full capacity usually) and you will have a great time! Even at full capacity on the ship it never feels that way to me (guess it's the way that Disney handles everything...)

I think you will be very happy with the January cruise.

We went in January 2002 and loved it. The weather was great (certainly better than PA in Jan.!) and the ship was pleasantly full but not overcrowded. The only thing was that the water at CC was a tiny bit cool. I stayed in for a long, long time snorkeling, ut my sister only stayed in a short time. You will love it!

We went the end of this past January and the weather was sunny but just around 70 degrees. The kids enjoyed the pools, but it was a little cool and breezy, especially our day at CC. However, the cruise before us had terrible weather (rain and winds) and were unable to dock at CC at all, I believe. We had a wonderful time, but 5 more degrees would have been a little nicer, but at least we got sun and CC! I think it's just luck, no matter what time of year you go.

I would go again in January if I could take the kids out of school again. The prices are so good at that time of year.

Both of our Magic cruises have been in January. Our first cruise I was actually too hot in one of the ports while we were shopping, I think it was St. Martin. Our day at Castaway Cay was wonderful. I don't remember a drop of rain the whole cruise, and the seas were very calm.

Our second cruise the seas were a little rougher, in fact we couldn't get to Castaway Cay and just had a "sea day" instead. I wasn't too bummed, since we'd been there before, but I felt sorry for first-time cruisers who had been excited about CC.

Our third Disney cruise is coming up this January. We like vacationing in January because it seems less crowded (especially at WDW) and being from Michigan, even 70 degree weather feels nice and warm to us! :sunny: And it's less expensive then too.

We did the 4 night January 5, 2003 cruise and loved it. The weather was great, though alittle chilly at CC for my family since we live in Naples and are used to the warm weather. Most of the other families seemed just fine with the temperatures, though I didn't see too many people swimming. Go for it, you'll love it!
