4-day hopper plus

Two more questions for the experts out there. I have a 4 day park hopper plus that I got using Marriott Rewards Points. Mousesavers says that you can trade in the unused value of a pass for an upgrade.

So....#1. Does WDW sell 4 day hopper plus passes at gates? #2 Will WDW know that I paid $0 for my pass and not allow me to upgrade to 5 day hopper plus?

Yes WDW will know the cash value of the pass. Since you got it from some third party, chances are that the cash value for trade in purposes is some wholesale price, somewhat less than the 4 day hopper (non-plus only) sold at the gate.

You can ask about the trade in value (or how many dollars you need to add to get your 5 day), and abort your trade in request if you don't like the number. (and then buy something else such as a one day pass for the last day).

If you set aside one day of your stay for a waterpark using the plus, and other non-theme park activities, you won't need to trade up or buy more passes.
