Friday 23rd September
I was awake at 4.30am.......I eventually gave in and got up at 6am.....the kids were awake soon after.
We had arranged to meet everyone in the lobby at 8am....as we had plenty of time, we took a few photos of Jambo house.
I know everyone posts their animal photos.....I have loads but I've only posted one.....didn'r want to bore you all silly
We met up with the others and caught the bus to MK.....we always spend our first day at MK because it's not Disney until you see the castle.
We had heared that AKL is quite a way from MK so can take quite a while to get there.....we didn't find the travel time a problem, we were there in about 20mins.
We arrived for a first for us......opening ceremony, this was our 4th trip but our first time seeing it....I'm glad we did.
It was already very hot and we made our way to the Main Street Bakery (another First) but it seemed as though everyone else had the same idea.....the queue was out the door
.....it did move pretty fast though.
I will be honest with you, I had every intention of taking a photo of everything we ate......well.....I failed missrably....I kept getting so excited and remembering half way through scoffing half of what I was eating
Anyway.....we had a cinamon roll and chocolate muffin to share between the 4 of us.....boy were they huge.....but very tasty.
The kids wanted there first ride to be Splash Mountain...a fave of all of ours, so we headed taking a few photos on the way as the park was very quiet.
as we were passing we realised that there was no line for the Magic Carpets......we couldn't resist and we all went on
We then headed straight to Splash and it was a walk on.....we were all alowed to ride in one log.....can you imagine how heavy it was with 10 of us in........we got dreanched.....Moli was sat inbetween me and Rich in the front.....well by the end of the ride she had a puddle of water in her lap
I have never gotten this wet, I didn't have a dry patch.....We got the photo added to the photo pass......it's a great one of the top of my head
We then did Thunder....another family favourite
We then bumbed into our first character
Donald was great fun, we were with him for quite a while....he loved the kids autograph books as I had made them with different characters on each page and he liked seeing himself.
We then went on It's a small world......Moli loves this ride and my parents have never been on it......how can you go to MK and not ride it.......needless to say, I think they were suitably unimpressed
Moli enjoying IASW
By now we were getting tired but some of the group wanted to do Pirates of the caribean.....I wanted a Dole Whip ( another first for us).....so I ate my lovely Dole Whip whith my parents while the others rode.
After this we headed out of the park, Moli wanted to get a stitch cuddly, so this was her first purchase and then we went back to the resort, spending some time in the pool
We had a dinner reservation for Boma at 5pm, we checked in at about 4.50 and was seated at 5pm. It was quite a noisy resturant but we enjoyed the food.....DS has a nut allergy and the chef came out and walked him around the buffet letting him know what he could have.
DH tried all the soups while DS loved all the carved meats. We would definatly book again.
After dinner we were all shattered and headed to bed
