4 and 6 yr old brothers together?

From what I can tell, they break the Kids Club kids into ages of
3 & 4 and 5 -7. IS this right?

My sons would be much happier if they could be in the same group. They will both be having a birthday with 1-2 weeks of cruise and will be 3 turning 4 and 5 turning 6.

Are there times they can be together? Otherwise, they'll probably refuse to go without dh and I at all.

You can always bump your oldest down to the 3-4 group. My son was 3 and my daughter was 6 and she chose to be in the 3-4 year old group so she could be with her brother. She still had a blast and there was plenty for her to do. The most important thing for the two of them, was that they had fun together.

They seem to be somewhat flexible with letting kids go down an age group. My DD6 wanted to be with her dinner tablemate 4 in the club , it was no problem for her to do that.

My philosophy is it doesn't hurt to ask.


They said there were 700+ kids onboard so you can imagine they don't want to much switching.

That is great news to me!! I thought I had read that they had to be within 1 month of the different age to be in a different group. Nice to hear they will make exceptions.

I'm MUCH more excited now! My kids will love it as long as they are together!

We just came from the Feb 29 Wonder and my girls are 6 1/2 and 3 1/2 - My girls are very close and my older daughter wanted to stay with little sister since it was little sister's first cruise. They said that they could put my 6 y.o. in the 3-4 program. (They obviously couldn't move my 3 1/2 y.o. into a 5-7 program) She was fine with it - I - on the other hand - felt kinda weird about it! (like she would do younger things and be bored, etc) My hubby convinced me that she wasn't going to the club for "enrichment" - she's in first grade but reads 3rd and 4th grade books - but rather to have fun and be on vacation - so as long as she didn't feel weird about it, I shouldn't. I really think having the two together kept either of them from beeping us early! The counselors were very kind and understanding and said that if she was bored, then she could go up to her age group, but she never said she was bored. The younger group has more puppet shows and characters like Tarzan, Snow White, etc. The older group seemed to be more "boy-ish" - ie Toy Story, Capt Hook, etc. (who incidently completely terrified my child!)

I will say that my very tall 6 1/2 year old looked kinda silly sitting up front during the kids program with all the 3's and 4's but if she didn't have a complex - I won't either. She did tell me that she helped the younger ones out in the bathroom and helped tell the counselors when some kids were saying "bad words". My little teacher/mommy.

Thanks for the input, polkadotlady. That's great news to me to hear you confirm that the olders can stay with the youngers. my son who will be 5- almost 6 when we go, plays great with older kids, but is used to being around little guys and is very gentle and helpful with them.

I think he would MUCH rather prefer a little less challenges with the youngers if he gets to stay in his comfort zone (with his brother.)

I can't WAIT for DH and I to have some grownup time while our kids are happily playing!

Our 4 yeard old was a little lost the first 2 days in the club.,didn't seem to happy.We asked if she could move up with her older sister who is 6+. They were very accomadating,and my little one had a better time after that. They also told us if there was an activity in the 5-7 group we thought she'd be too young for,they'd be glad to move her back into the younger group as well.

I should add that our 4 year old was only a month away from being 5,which may have heped the situation.

I read somewhere that if you birthday is within 30 days of the trip they will move you up.

We had an interesting situation on the 02/07/04 Magic. My DS was 5 on our first trip and enjoyed the Club but thought it was too babyish. So I was dreading this last trip because now he was 7 (turned 7 in August) and it was February so no way to move him up to the 8-9 group, he would be in the 5-7 again. Well, imagine my surprise when we were registering him and they asked him if he wanted to move up to the 8-9s. And imagine my second surprise when he said "no thank you". I tried in vain to convince him to go and CM Devon said to DS "you can just tell me any time you are ready and I'll take you over to the lab and you can try it out".

My point is sometimes the parents (ME ) worry unneccessarily about things that our kids just don't care about!

It all works out for the best, have a great trip.
