4 and 5 day passes now must show ID and use separate entrance

I don't know. :confused3 The sign said 4 and 5 day passes. Has anyone with a rare 6 or 7 day pass tried to use the regular line?

I know someone who contacted Disney and they stated it was anything over 5 days. Just didn't include those on signs because anything over 5 is rare now- per them.

We're here now and have 5 day park hoppers. Our experience has been that the "special" lines have actually been faster. Yay for us! I hope the rest of you have the same good experience.

That's good news. Can I ask what time people are lining up to get to the front of these gates? Any idea?

That is great news!! Hopefully it will remain that way by Christmas!

Thanks for sharing your experience with us. In my experience, Disney is a master at crowd management.

I watched from just inside DCA, a they were checking the 4 & 5 day tickets. They were carefully checking IDs and tickets, and moving people to the side if there were problems. I saw a large family being turned away. They mean business.

I don't know about this as we're not early morning people. :-)

Agree with this. Our line for DL this afternoon (gate 22, I think) moved at a snail's pace, while the "special" lines had no lines. People walked up to the turnstile, showed i.d. and the hoppers, and waltzed right in.

Oh, and the memorable turnstile moment of the day happened when the guy right behind us tried to enter without any ticket. He just wanted to run into DL because he "forgot" something. When the CM refused entry, he was mad. Uh huh...

Also, just in case anyone is directed to go to gate #___ at DCA, there are no numbers on the outside of the turnstiles, only on the inside. So I asked a CM who said to just head for the last 2 gates on the left (as you face DCA).

Would not want to have to carry the kids passports around the parks- what if they got wet or lost? Coming from Canada that would be a big problem going home.
I am sure they wouldn't expect kids to have ID.

Came here to post this same thing. They had better accept Canadian drivers licenses as ID because we're not lugging our passports around the parks for 5 days. Had a friend who was refused drink service at DCA because they wouldn't accept an Ontario driver's license.

I posted this elsewhere as well, but I wanted to share here as well to give you all encouragement.

I was there from Wed - Sunday this week and every time we walked up to the gates, either at park opening or when hopping, the 4-5 day gates had the shortest lines, usualy only one family ahead of us.

I was there for rope drop at DL on Wed (two families ahead of us) and for a non early entry day at DCA on Thursday. At DCA I was so grateful for the 4-5 day line as we got there only one hour early and at the 4-5 day line there were only three families ahead of us, where as the other lines were at least three times longer. Thanks to the 4-5 day line I feel like I saved at least an hour of line wait time over my 4 days at the park.

Of course I was frustrated on the first day to be directed to another line, but luckily it was no more than a few minutes delay. I was mostly surprized that all of my pre-research had not prepared me for this, so a good lesson that anything can change at DLR any time!!

Also - no ID needed for my 9 year old.

Are those lines ONLY for 4 and 5 day ticket holders, or can passholders use them as well? Would like to go in with my friends.

We just came in the gates at DCA. They were pulling out anyone with 4 or more day passes and moving them to the two special lines. Lines were long (even the regular lines were) and the special lines were moving slower, but not by that much, so it wasn't too bad.

I can't imagine why they would have a problem with people using AP's in those lines to stay with their parties.

I have never had an issue using my Alberta driver's license for anything at DL. I am an annual pass holder so get asked for my ID alot.

Was the person using the Ontario license over 21? My neice who is 22 gets id when she order's a drink in Cali, and at DL, but has never had an issue using her AB license. That would be the only reason I can think that someone would be refused service for a drink, because they are under 21.

As well last chirstmas when we were there with my DH family, who is from Burlington, they all used their Ontario licences, and never had an issue.

The person in front of me at DCA was denied alcohol as she did not have a California license. The CM said it was resort policy that they cannot accept out of state drivers licenses to sell alcohol. Passports are ok. His trainer was standing behind him, so I'm guessing this is the official policy. Another line opened, and that guy sold me a drink without question. So, it is not just a Canada thing, but a potential issue for any of us from outside of California.

Wow, in all the times we have been, never have had that happen. I have been id' three times in the last two trips when buying a drink, and they have always accepted my AB license, same with my neices.

You learn something new on the Dis

I've been at a couple of the DLR lounges with friends from out of state, and they have never been turned down with out of state licenses.... Weird.

You will be required to sign your ticket, print your name, and show ID to verify you own that ticket. The point is to stop people from sharing tickets.

What I don't understand is why does this only apply to 4 and 5 day park hopper tickets? Don't 2 and 3 day hopper tickets need to be signed and have ID shown also? Isn't it possible for 2 and 3 day hopper tickets to be "shared" or "rented" to other people? Same goes for AP's.

If they are going to do this, it seems like there should be one set of lines for multi-day tickets/AP's and another set of lines for single day tickets.

Well, AP's have your picture pop up when scanned, so no need for separate ID there. I do agree that any ticket longer than a day can be shared... Frankly I think they should crack down on everyone.

Can I just use my signature and sign the ticket each time? Don't usually carry an id.
