I am planning a wedding at WDW and will want to rent 3 or 4 AKL CL studios for 2 nights (probably Friday-Sunday) either through a private renter, Davids DVC, or the DVC Rental Store during spring break (March or April). I know that these are in high demand but do you think that expecting to get 4 AKL CL Studios during this time is unreasonable? What is the best way to make sure we secure 4 of them? Any suggestions?

Thank you! :)

I assume you are talking about March/April 2017. These rooms are already fully booked for all of March and April 2016.

There are five 2BR lockoffs in the Club Level booking category. A lockoff can be split up into a 1BR and a studio so that means there are at most 5 studios available to book. Studios book most quickly. You would need to have someone lined up in advance of the 11-month window for your dates since they would need to jump online to book them the instant the window opens. Since members can book only one room at a time, it's extremely unlikely that you would get more than one, and getting even one is not guaranteed.

Thanks! Since that is not very promising... what about a different combination such as two CL two bedrooms or a two bedroom CL with a studio CL? Would these be more likely or still unreasonable?

You can't book a 2BR unless there is a studio available because all of the CL 2BRs are lockoffs, meaning that they consist of a 1BR connected to a studio. The studios go quickly so that makes it difficult to book a 2BR. I imagine that the last rooms to go would be the 1BRs since they are expensive compared to a studio but have the same occupancy. I have no idea how many CL 1BRs you might be able to book at exactly 11 months however.

If Concierge is the desire you probably would need to book some or all thru CRO. Those rooms are not on the concierge level but have access.

If trying DVC perhaps you could get a 2 bedroom and then a 1 bedroom but it's nothing I'd count on or give great odds on.

You really need to approach this knowing your chances are very slim. I would start thinking of a back up and hope for the best, but have that back up ready. The problem is, you need to have it set up with whoever you are renting from before that 11 month mark. Now, let's say you find someone with AKV points, if they can't get what you want at 11 months and you decide maybe your back up is at the Grand Floridian, that person can't help you until the 7 month mark. This means you will need to start over finding someone with the back up resort's points and now you've lost the 11 month window.

Not gonna happen. Sorry. You would have to book one bedroom units to have a chance. I just booked a 2 bed and a studio for a 3 night weekend after labor day at the 11---- and it was very difficult. had to piece it together as the walkers moved through to F&W. Booked a one bedroom right away, and whatever nights I could get studios, until I had all three in one of the studios. MS combined it for me to a 2 bed to help save me a couple points. Difficult to get them to do it, but eventually a supervisor was willing. Depends who you get and their mood. I still have one night in a value studio that"s waitlisted for CL. We'll see.

If you want CL, book Disney cash rooms, the odds of getting DVC rooms are pretty much zero.

I agree. The odds of getting even one room (whether studio , 1 bedroom or 2 bedroom) are very small. Odds of getting more than one are virtually zero.

If concierge is important, book through DRC for cash.

And you would have to find an owner who would be willing to make the calls, walk a reservation or piece reservations together. I'm not sure you will find someone willing to do that.

or if someone would want to pay the price for an owner to do it....... everything has a price.

In order to accomplish what is wanted, I would think you would have to have 4 separate AKV owners, all walking a reservation for those dates, trying to get 4 out of the 5. It seems unlikely that it would be completely successful, and you would probably end up with 1 or 2 of the rooms, and not being able to get the rest. For a wedding I wouldn't take that chance. I would just go ahead and book the cash CL rooms.

Thanks everyone! I'll scratch that plan or at least know it won't really happen.

What about non- club level studios at AKL? Would I be realistic in thinking I could get 3 studios in any category (value, standard, savannah, or even club) for 5 nights each in April/ March through Davids or DVC rental store? It would be okay to have the 3 rooms not be in the same category. Which categories are most likely to be available easily at 11 months?

Thank you for all of your help!

Savanna view Kidani has the most rooms.

The standard or Savannah view should be fairly easy to get at 11 months- it's the CL and value categories that are difficult.

I agree that either standard or Savannah view should be easy to get at 11 months. Value might be possible as well but odds will be a little higher.

oh yeah sure, a savannah or standard swallow maybe, but not a club level swallow. that's my point.

AKV Savannah and standard view will be open at 11 months out and well beyond. If instead of four rooms, you may be considering one, the Grand Villas will also be open at 11 months out. At exactly 11 months out, you will also have some chance for value rooms but be aware the values are "value" because they are smaller rooms.

For the time you want, the following are also typically open even at 7 months out when owners of any DVC resort can reserve other DVC resorts: AKV savanna and standard view, AKV Grand Villas, at least at Kidani; Poly studios and bungalows; BWV pool/garden view; BLT lake view and potentially theme park view, including potentially Grand Villas; all room sizes at VGF except studios and 2BR lock-offs; BCV also has a decent chance of being open except potentially the dedicated 2BR with two queen beds in the second bedroom;all room sizes at both SSR and OKW.
