4 Adults in All-Star Movie Room?

Hi,
Planning a trip for next year and deciding if we want to stay inside Disney, most likely the All-Star Resorts. Not sure on how many people are going right now, at the most would be 4. So, my question is, Are the rooms too small for 4 adults plus room for luggage? Also, Do they have closets? I've seen pictures of them, but can't tell if they have a closet or not? Would appreciate any opinions people could give on the rooms.

are you reallly, really, really, close to these people that you are going with...because there are lots of people who call the AllStars, "the AllSmalls", and with pretty good reason. Bet, hey, if all you need is a place to sleep, all of you are packing light, and there aren't any bathroom "hogs"...you should be OK...does anybody snore in the group? "Cause there's only about 18 inches between the double beds!



2 chairs, small, open closet space, dresser with deep drawers, and a table, and that's about it...and yep, you do have to be careful about opening the bathroom door.....

You will have two double beds. I've stayed in a few moderates and they only had closet rods near the sink (which was in the room), not actual closets. If you have lots of luggage (more than one suitcase per adult), you may be wishing you had more room. But if you plan you days and nights, you might not spend that much time in your room. Figure four adults using the bathroom each morning, too.

Thanks for the quick replies, I know I came to the right place. How would you compare the room to say, a Hampton Inn or comparable? We're all family, it would be me, my sister and possibly my aunt and cousin, but we're not light packers, that's the part I was afraid of, don't want to be tripping over everything. I was thinking maybe getting 2 rooms instead. I have some time to decide, but wanted to get opinions early.

Considering 4 people trying to share one bathroom in the morning. I think the rooms are quite a bit smaller than Hampton Inn. Fine for 2 or a family with small kids, but for grown people with a lot of luggage they're a bit cramped.

Too small!!! In my opinion! DH and I have trouble sharing a double bed (and we are relatively smaller people). 7 yr old DD needs one to herself because she moves all night.

We were going to take my sister with us to stay at AllStar Sports but they wanted to charge a fee for an extra adult (after 2 adults in a room). I don't remember the amount???

I wouldn't recommend doing it. I had this experience once with two other friends in an AS room. All of us in our 20's then and did last minute trip (long weekend) and split AS 3 ways. There were entirely too many women in this room with only one sink/mirror. We didn't have a ton of luggage but really felt like we were on top of one another. We had a good trip but felt that we all would've loved it if we had gone anyplace else. It wasn't the room alone that did it, but the general surroundings and time of year we went when the AS were packed with kids. It was very noisy at night and just when you felt yourself drifting off someone would call out to a kid in the courtyard or slam a door or walk in front of the room giggling, laughing, talking loud (went on almost til 2:00 a.m.). So part of it was that we felt like we didn't sleep.

IMHO I would go for a bigger room. You may want to do some research into renting DVC points. Although the rooms at OKW aren't huge, they are bigger than the AS and have the kitchenette. Depending upon what time of year you go and which nights you stay the room may only cost $80 per night (off season staying Sunday through Thurs. night) This is what you would be paying close to by staying at the AS. However, DVC rooms double in price for Friday and Sat. night stays so I would tell you to check out for the weekend. 2 nights at AS are doable when you know your moving someplace else.

I'm not sure about this or not but it something you may want to check on before you book All Stars.

While waiting to get our tickets at guest services, there was a man in front of me talking to a manager. He was asking about the extra surcharges that were on his bill. It had something to do with more than two adults in the room and the extra adults had to pay an extra fee to stay in the room.

You may want to check if there is an extra fee for a 3rd and 4th adult to stay in one of the All star rooms. If that is the case, it would probably be well worth it to just upgrade to a moderate or something.

we were fine.......we had the basic set up as a moderate did....except one sink......not a big deal.......we made out quite fine.....the mods also have the same rod to hang up clothes.....only place I have been to that had the closets was the Dolphin......we were in one room by the way with our son and his wife....and in the other room was my daughter her husband and two kids......this was at all star movies.....only time we were in our room was sleeping and getting ready to go to parks or swimming......we had a great time and would not hestitate to do it again.....we paid for eight people....air ...hotels......so two rooms was a good savings pkg for us

Even if you go with a Moderate, you still have to pay the extra for the two additional adults. And at the Moderates it's more per extra adult.

Since you will have to pay extra for the two additional adults then I would recommend splurging and getting two rooms. You will be thankful for the extra bathroom and tv after a few days. Those rooms are small. Not bad for two adults though.

Thanks for all the replies, When we finally decide on vacation plans, will definately take these into consideration, by what everyone says and for our own space/getting ready, most likely will get 2 rooms. So my next question is Do they have adjoining rooms and would i ask for them when I book or when I check in? Sorry for so many questions, Only 3rd time going to Disney World and first time possibly staying onsite.

I think four adults would be fine in the All-Star Resorts. If only sleep there and only watch tv.

Me and Mom love the All-Star Resorts because they is compact. We never stay at mod hotel because it has two many bus stops.
I would pick a hotel that appeals to me and go from there.

Adjoining roooms are next door to each other. CONNECTING rooms have a door between them. WDW won't guarantee a connecting room unless it is an issue with minors in a room.

In the Value resorts the 3rd and 4th adult are $10 each. In Delux they are $25 each.

Try for a date in value season, an AP rate or code. It could cost $49 a room and then 2 rooms would be great!

My advice would be to wait for discounted package deal like the one they just ran last summer (8 days/7 nights for the price of 4) and get two rooms. We stayed twice at an All Stars (Sports and Movies) when my kids were young and the last time the kids were 11 and 9 and the room was getting cramped. These rooms are great for families with little ones. But are cramped. If you send an email to your hotel a week before your arrival they will try to get you joining rooms or at least ones close to each other and if your going at a time when it is not too crowded in the parks you should be able to be accomodated.

We've been back to WDW twice since then (with the kids) and were able to stay at moderates (Coronado Springs and Carribean Beach) because of the good deals on Disney vacations since 9/ll and we (even if the rate was not discounted) would get a moderate resort because of the space issue...in fact hopefully, were looking to try one of the deluxe resorts next time.

I would also recommend going around May, since you do not have to worry about kids and school. We've been there three times in the month of May and found the crowds manageable...only drawback is the park hours and some of the attractions are closed because it is not considered peak season but maybe if you do the end of May around Memorial day the hours would be a little bit extended (weekends)
