4 a.m. Thunderstorms!

I have watched very little tv this week, but I am going to turn it on now to get updated about more storms this afternoon.
Running dishwasher now , think i will run the vaccum too ...just in case we lose power later.

I was woken up around 4am but the booming thunder. That lightning was unbelievable!

That was some crazy thunder!!! It scared the heebeejeebee's out of me!!

None here in NC, but I do hate it when they come in the middle of the night. I always turn the TV on to see if any tornadoes have been spotted & then lie awake thinking of how I'll get my kids downstairs in case there is a tornado warning. I'm a BIG time worrier, Dh just rolls over & goes back to sleep.

3:30 here in central Ma. Huge lightning/thunder. Went on forever. And, when I got out of bed at 5:30 (just couldn't stay in bed any longer), I had lost cable. No TV, no computer!!! Just came back on. We never lost power tho. Do we have more coming later today? We have a big 4th of July block dance/party in town tonight and my dh has been working very hard on it. I would hate to see it get rained out.

It's 9:32 here and I still haven't gotten into the shower since I've been dragging all morning....:o We got hit about 3:30 this morning and it seemed like they would go away and then come back...go away and then come back...this went on and on for over an hour. Must have been one long band of them. Good thing tho was that the kids didn't wake up. I could hear the birds making little chirpy noises and I wonder what they think of it all? The room they are in has no curtains so it was getting lit up all the time.

Today would be a good day for an afternoon nap.....yawn..

when I looked at the clock it was 4:30. I think we were lucky though, because if you use that formula where every second between the lightning and the sound of the thunder equals the lightning being that many miles away from you it never got within 3-4 miles of us, but we sure heard it.
I used to love T'Storms, but DW hates them so much I can't enjoy them (not that that's her fault). Thankfully, after it was over we all got back to sleep, and now I don't have to water the lawn :)

I'm in Salem, NH and I almost fell out of my bed when I heard it! A huge clap of thunder right over head. And since I'm scared of thunderstorms  , I couldn't go back to sleep. DD slept through the whole thing though. Go figure.

We had them about 4 a.m. . Nonstop thunder and lightning for what seemed like a looong time. I had just gotten to sleep because ds had been up all night and I have an earache when BAM! The thunder rolled in. Think the nap on the couch sounds very appealing this afternoon ::yes:: .

:scared1: 4:30a for us and within a couple of minutes we had BOTH DDs in our bed and shaking dogs!

It was horrible!

My DD usually sleep through them (especially if they are at night like 9:00p or 10:00p) but not this one!

It was so scary!

3:00-3:30am here. Man, I've NEVER seen or heard continuous thunder & lightening like that in my life. It just DIDN'T stop!
:scared1:

I need a nap before the next round starts.

4:00ish in Lynn. Both DS's slept right through it, all the car alarms and all! I loved storms when I was a kid, but last night all I could think about was the house getting hit, how would I get the kids and cats out safely, and how much water would come into my basement from the pounding rain! Ah, adulthood!

That was an incredible storm. I happened to be up, working on the computer, when I started seeing constant flashes of light. At first I thought someone was working out on 128. Then the "booms" started.

:scared1:

it was 4:15 am when I came too and was trying to figure out what all the flashes were and realized as soon as I heard the KABOOM!!!!! gee and I didn't have to get up for another half an hour or so and about 5-10 minutes later there was a snap of lighting and the power went out
Nothing like getting ready for work with a flashlight and eating a bowl of cereal by candlelight oops I mean flashlight

415 here too. lightning struck the house across the street. it was so loud!
I had my beagle protector standing over me, licking me and want me to be with him at all times. that kept me up more than the thunderstorms. DH slept right through it.
